You ride like a crazy person!
I cafe raced my 1976 T140V on the streets and back roads of Long Island NY think Isle Of Mann TT and she won every cafe race for 10 consecutive years. I stopped riding after I got married and became a father. Then took my Bonneville out again for the 1992 riding season she was 16 years old and she still beat the two fastest Jap bikes of that year the 1992 Kawasaki 1100cc Ninja and the Honda V4 Interceptor. They had more powerful motors and could out accelerate and had a higher top speed than my 16 year old Triumph 750 but they both lost. Why? How? Handling! I could maintain a higher average speed on any public road. Anyone who thinks Bonneville's are turds like the poster here is an ignorant person and evidently never had one.
Name one other brand or model that won for 10 consecutive years. Name one! You can't. Only the Triumph Bonneville can claim that. She has beaten the Italian 750 Track Bike the Laverda SF750, I raced the guy to his own house and beat him. He had insulted my Triumph and I said well lets race and we will just see which is the better and faster machine. She has beaten the Norton 850cc Commando from the 1970's era too. She never lost not once. She sits around 20 feet away as I type this. These day's at age 66 I no longer race, nothing to prove-I'll leave that up to the younger generation. So I ride a 2015 Harley-Davidson FLHP Road King Police. It has a coil spring/shock absorber mounted under the seat. It is the most comfortable machine, more comfortable than even my Ford Crown Victoria sedan automobile.
I'm thinking of trading my new FLHP for a Triumph Thruxton or Thruxton R or even a T120.
Difference between Bonneville and Street Twin? Is there one?
Did I notice your engine cutting out at 4:25 as you were changing down when slowing to a stop at traffic lights and that you had to restart it? A similar problem was noted by Simon Greenacre in his written review on the Visordown website, he thought that the Triumph engineers may have been aware of it too.
It looks like it has idle issues, and cut out at the lights at one point.
Was waiting for you to complain about the front brake … the whole time.
Nice vid with no f bombs :)
Can you turn the abs and traction control off?
Great bike, but it is a shame that it is made in Thailand & not England!Should be called a Thaiumph?
Am I missing something? "I really didn't wanna say nice things about Triumph"? What's with all the hate?
Bike died at 4:24 – EFI glitch?
I've heard this bike is better for smaller riders, is that true? I'm 5'10" and 205lbs
Gonna get killed with the way you ride
I am amazed these idiots would make a bike without a tacho. It is typically Triumph. they were never purists but just a stamped out unengineered marketing product.
Thailand's finest??
Checked out a jet black Street Twin today and am sold on Triumph's. Saving up for the down payment!
Haha! Pay attention dude! I bought a street twin last month. I love it!
Your review is the best and most accurate of all the Street Twin reviews. Everything you've talked about is accurate. Haven't experienced any head shake. By far the most fun motorcycle I have ever owned. Exhaust sound from factory pipes is amazing. Great job on the review of this Triumph
Street twin or Hd iron 883 ?
I used to be in love with sport bikes, but I'm starting to love these classic Twins.
would you recommend this bike for beginners, if not do you have recommendations that are similar in style? thank you! i really enjoyed your review !
can low saddle be a problem for tall people?? maybe for its uncomfort
was goin to test ride it.but the wolverhampton stratstone closed its doors.in march.
well they was tryin real hard to rip folks off.
are you Stephen Colbert?
Dear Stephen, how you recommend this bike as handling/agility compared with a sporty naked like FZ07, Aprilia Shivers, Suzuki SV650 etc…
I look forward to buy this thing but i am afraid is not so friendly in terms of handling…
Does Triumph has an option for spoke wheels for the Street Twin? because they would add a nice finishing retro touch.
beautiful bike, i will trade my 1500 kawi vulcan to this, i'm 5'3 asian i feel too tiny for
my vulcan. i got stroked 3 times but can still ride even though my legs feel wobbly at times. i like that classic look and up right position. this is just about good size for me
and wife, not too big or small. i wish triumph put twin disc on the front.
That put a massive smile on my face. Can you get your hands on a street cup next? I was going to get a tracer but I think I've seen the light!
+Cal Moto I ride an fz 07 right now as my first bike and it really just doesn't fit my style. I love classic bikes but i know if I go to the street twin I will lose some power. Would you recommend going for the street twin or Thruxton 1200 after the fz 07?
In general, are these reliable? Triumphs in general?
