A HUGE Folding Knife – Can You Use it Like a Sword?

It’s the Opinel No. 13. AKA probably the most ridiculously oversized folder you’ve ever seen. Fun though. And surprisingly effective in the cutting test!

wow skall you've thinned out
The regular size opinel knife was the first knife I ever owned. It was my grandads, now mine.
A folding knoife
THIS IS SPARTAAAAA!!!
That thing cuts like a school shooter.
Lol do you work at a sausage factory?
Cooking knife for when you go camping.
Anybody know if it gets around the 6" blade law in a lot of states courtesy of its collapsible nature? If so, I think I know why it's a thing.
Nice anime style pocket knife ya got there
I was weary of the bamboo as soon as it popped on the screen and then amazed at the perfect slice it took off of the roll. I have an Opinel No.8 and like it for what it is, but I think I'm in love now!
because titans need pocketknives too
nice weight loss
Wonderful cuts, I see you are getting better and better! Good job.
Skall your starting to look like glass from the revenant
All well and good, but can you End Him Rightly with it?
one can only imagine, if in unfold-mode it still would come half or more length of the blade out from the woodybits (this mode carried in sheath). then when its "transformed" in the ultimate world ending most awesome fight melee glory full lenght mode you would fold it out and turn them rings for lockup.
Man, even Corvo's engineer fell on hard times. Selling his designs to alternate dimensions is a desperate gamble at the best of climates.
Should we tell him about the Bloodborne weapons?
Holy shit that's sharp.
Speaking of which.

review the timberback rattler scarab lock back folding knife
Ah, a jackknife wannabe
So, a 40k folding knife. No seriously, that's an astartes combat knife if I've ever seen one.
If you completely flat grind an opinel, they approach sharp enough to cut god.I have used opinel knives for decades, excellent price vs quality. My wee no.7 I've carried for 20 years rivals a new scalpel blade in sharpness – I'm almost afraid to look directly at the blade.I gotta get a big one and re-mount on a 6' shaft.

You can give people cutting remarks!!!!
NO THIS IS SPARTA
Wha.. Tha… TTTTtttTT That is not a pocket knife. That is a retractable short spear.
You can use it for home defense.
There are videos of people successfully batoning with Opinels. And I've done it for small starter wood with my No. 7. However I would suggest Carbone (X90 shock resistant high carbon steel) over Inox (Sandvik Stainless) for that. You can also put a sharper edge on the carbone. Though it does seem to slightly dull a little quicker as well.
Have you gotten much use out of your smaller Opinel yet? When I first got mine I was so hesitant to use it for much of anything. It just doesn't look trust worthy. But underestimating it isn't something I do anymore. Because everything I though "Okay this will surely break it" it's surprised me.
Cutting carpet, cutting linoleum, batoning, package opening, food prep etc. I've dropped it on concrete on the tip. Accidentally hit the spine on a porch beam when turning around. I'm sure it has a breakage point. I've just yet to find it in 3 years of using Opinels on a daily basis reasonably and sometimes accidentally abusively (2 No. 7's. an Inox, then a Carbone, as I lost my first one on the bus). These a great value knives.
The one thing I have had a problem with is cutting some vegetables (like larger Russet potatoes and big red onions) through in a single pass due to the blade length being just under long enough. I eat a lot of root vegetables. So I will probably upgrade to a No. 8 eventually.
HOLY HECK THAT THING IS SHARP!!!!!
