  • Really nice bit of new kit that, looks beautifully engineered. What with the new caliper, I'm certain that you'll be able to stand that bonnie on it's nose of you need to!

Another enjoyable watch, Stephen. Don't forget to pump the brakes back in before riding it! Have you tried the bike since fitting the caliper and disc yet? Looks to be mild over the next few days so I'm sure a little bimble will be in order:-)

    Kind regards

    Peter

  • When refitting the front axle on a Triumph Bonneville, always tighten the axle nut finger tight only, squeeze the front brake lever and pump the forks two or three times to align the fork legs.  Then tighten the axle nut and finally the pinch bolt to the recommended torque settings.

If you don't follow this procedure the fork legs can become mis-aligned.

This means that if you are to replace a brake rotor such as this video, it would be better to remove the front wheel, and then bolt the rotor onto the wheel before re-fitting the wheel.  This would give the brake pads something to bit to when pumping the forks.  Otherwise follow the sequence in this video but don't tighten the axle nut and pinch bolt until the very end, after squeezing the brake lever and pumping the forks a few times.

  • Why not take the wheel out to fit, that look hard wok,,
