Ariel Square Four Mark II
Culver City, Los Angeles County, California

Daniel J. Winter’s 997cc Ariel Square Four Mk II is one of 3828 produced between 1953 and 1958.   He told me he bought it from a friends grandfather.   My guess from the styling is this bike was customized in the early 1970s.

This photo is the first of a series of this bike.

When I was a starving student in my early twenties the Ariel Square Four was one of two types of vintage bikes I wished I could afford.   The other was a Vincent Black Shadow
