2015 Harley Davidson Softtail Slim – First Ride / Review
Right, first thing is first, I do not want to insult any Harley owners. This was in response to the fact that I have been reviewing other cruisers without having tried the quintessential cruiser – Found one that I could fit my long legs on, and liked the retro look of, and off I went! 🙂
I had a hoot, such a visceral experience, but you’ll see what my conclusion was…
Anyway, as always, thanks for watching and hope you enjoy it! 🙂

good video …torque is fun.
FUCK OFF.. I'm on a Harley hahahhhha, brilliant review. you crack me up! I'm so glad I found your channel
You remind me too much of Rik Mayall. 😂
"It sounds 'Biblical'!" Very entertaining review. I'm honing in on the Slim but not the new S. 103 cubes is enuff. Yes, we Yanks loves us our torque. Yes, you will want pegs on the engine guard (or crash bars). The Harley rider who doesn't swap out the seat for an after market is the exception, not the rule. I would love to ride in England but could never get accustomed to driving on the left side.
Hey dude you got the HP and the Torque backwards I understand you all on the metric system over there I started grade school over there in England well in Upper Heyford be safe out there I wish they had mid-controls on that for better inputs and control. There are two shocks under the bike just in front of the rear wheel that lay down. Thanks for sharing
It's funny this is my second random encounter with your channel as I was Chasing Thunderbird Storm reviews to try and get a feel for once in Comparison to a Harley Dyna FatBob and a used Victory Judge(precursor to the Gunner) and you sir by FAR are the most entertaining to watch. Keep whatever exquisite blend of petrol and caffeine you got rockin' in those veins flowing! Also check out a FatBob and if you get the chance and at least the Victory/Indian line if you can(freakin LOVE the scout for a smaller bike but I think I'm just too fat for it; you might just lose yourself haha!)
Loved watching you ride this bike and hearing how you felt! Big fun on my end.. I am that American who is too fat and loves his Harleys 😉 Anyway I love all bikes and have been riding for about 35 years. My son actually owns the slim and he has a hard time with curves being it is so low he drags the boards trying to stay with the old man's group.. Anyway that sound you made when rolling on the throttle is one of things I love about the HD. also that grunt from the torque…For a lazy day I like my Heritage Softail..but for longer rides my 103"Streetglide does the trick….I wear a modular helmet so I do not look like the bad boy most want to look like…..I just love to ride and will subscribe so I can enjoy how the other side of the pond does it…Oh yea I love watching the Isle of Mann TT races every year on the TV and do love all the old British bikes. the ones that are at the ACE Café etc…That Rocket 3 is a beast! Keep it on the tarmac! best to ya from Texas!
Got a nice giggle from watching this, I like your wild, manic Brit take on things.
The "industrial" feel you spoke about is precisely what I like about Harleys, and I have been worried of late as they continue to computerize and "modernize" their bikes, hoping they don't stray too far from what makes a Harley a Harley.
Anyhow, thanks for the show.
Regarding the meds your on, any chance of revealing the name? ……… i want some. 🙂 great reveiw.
-heheh
not impressed.
LoL @ "Yes I snorted…" I ride a '08 Sportster 883 and love the sound. I found you looking for Rocket III reviews/videos as I'm really looking at a Rocket III for my next bike. Interesting that the Rocket handles better than the Softtail.
"Bloody Bavarian baboon!!" Haha, love your reviews Captain, jolly good show!
Fantastic . love to chat . great review . love your little remarks on the surrounding your ride though . Thinking of having a Harley in my garage .
Very entertaining. I just bought one of those a couple weeks ago. It looks like mine is even fitted with the same after market exhaust pipes. Interestingly, a guy I work with has a Triumph. I'm not sure which model it is, but it looks more like a cafe style. Anyhow, cheers from Ohio.
Silly twat…….. Loved it, cheers.
back in the early 90s when there was a Harley shop near us they had a day when they brought all the latest Harleys and you could have test rides, I did not have a bike my self then (ill wife) but went there with a couple of mates and had some test rides 1200 sportster, heritage soft tail 1340 and another big twin with slightly stretched steering head and little bit longer forks (cant remember it name) lol thought the first two were ok but did not like the last one felt strange trying to corner and the ground clearance was none ha ha lots of scraping !!! made a change from old triumph twins and jap 4s
does it have abs and cruise control?
don't mind it as your giggling like a school girl and grunting like your having an orgasm Lol
So when are you going to make the trip to the US? We have a "few" miles and 49 convenient states you can ride to. I say 49, as it's kind of hard to ride to Hawaii. And if you're into exotic touring, catch a plane in Miami and take the flight to Havana. Motorcycle tours are now being offered in Cuba. Only a recent thing thanks to Barack.
Let me know if you've ever test rode an HD Ultra Classic, or plan to.
Since you mentioned it, how much is it to insure a motorcycle over there? I have the '06 HD Ultra, and pay some $40 per month for everything but medical. Don't need it as I and the wife, are fully medically insured.
girls bike
I can't believe your on a Harley .Lmao .Try a Victory or Indian .I love Harley but wouldn't own one except a V Rod
Come on now 16:24Cars have a steering wheelBikes have a handle bar
Hello Captain, may I ask what is your inside leg measurement & your height?
Just curious, it seems that all Brits reviewing motorcycles wear gloves. Are gloves required by law in Britain, or do the men just fancy taking care of their hands?
How wealthy does one have to be to be able to buy a HD in England ?
fuck the haters man your a funny dude
What would you choose between, Triumph Thunderbird Commander/ LT OR Harley softail for a 1000 Kms weekend
It was fun watching this. I have a 2016 Softail Slim S that I have had for almost a year now. I have taken a few long trips on it and have to agree with you on comfort of the stock seat. Just a few days ago I added a 2016 Triumph Thruxton R to the stable…. with only 400 miles on the Thruxton, I feel it more comfortable to ride than the Harley… Different riding styles for sure. Will see, once the fever of riding the new bike wears off, which one gets more riding time… if I go by what I feel now, I better put a trickle charger on the Slim… 🙂
Any chance of an Indian test ride?
Harley isn't my cup of tea either, but that sound though, melted the bloody heart and probably a kidney.
I'd take a Thunderbird Storm anyday over any Harley.
Man your camera is too high especially for blogs, try it on the chin.
Well, Captain, I See you had Fun. With Riding a Harley At least You Did not Break out Talking Like Captain James T. Kirk LOL
Finally got around to riding the T-120 black yesterday afternoon. Amazing ride, but quite naked. Grin factor was large, but after tooling a bit on it, I kind of missed the Thunderbird, and was quite happy to get back on it.
I would miss the saddlebags and the windscreen, for certain. But for power, sheer maneuverability, and just plain old fun, it is tops. If the roads here were as twisty as they are there, it'd probably be a must. Florida is notorious for long, straight, boring roads. That's where the cruisers are most at home.
I would like to try the Thruxton some day. I can only imagine what that is capable of.
I wish Triumph would make a bagger, and with a fairing.
I love Thaiumphs!!!
I want you to do reviews for everything! This was so damn fun to watch haha
Thunderbird is class of Dyna Fat Bob, one of the best handling Harleys, with visible rear shocks ))
"Bloody Bavarian buffoon!!"
Can i please steal that one from you hahahahaha 😀
what would you think of those handle bars on a sportster? They look real comfortable.
You crack me up.
Seriously so annoying. i lasted 10 seconds before i paused. now I'm leaving
