Somebody left out the links at the end just to mess with Caleb. Great test ride guys.
what year is it, how many miles?
Will it keep up with my 103 cubic inch Dyna Lowrider
I didn't know they did that to the dealers. That's pretty horrendous. Im gutted they're done, I really like them. Great video as always!
Indian's are nice but I'll keep my 12 Vision until it dies!
As far as I know victory was a private owned company which requires you to tell the whole world at one particular time that your shutting down, and that's why buyers and all dealers read the bad news in the papers together
Welcome to the free market.
If it ran a tube, you could have simply replaced the tube. That's about $15 plus a half hour of labor. Buying some silly Indian branded tire is going to cost a fortune.
The thing that killed Victory is the same that's hurting every other cruiser that's not a Harley. No or very little aftermarket support.
As a Victory owner I can tell you in one word the biggest reason why Polaris closed down Victory and it had nothing to do with concentrating on Indian, Marketing! Pure and simple.
If you don't market your brand you will not get the sales. Poor sales put the company in the red for 100 million dollars couple that with new Euro standards which meant Victory would have to develop a new engine (like HD had too) since the 106 would not pass, and you can see why from a business point of view it was just easier to close it down then invest more money into it.
2014 I bet
My dad had and 2007 victory Vegas jackpot with an 107ci!!!!!! It was an beast
When are you making another live video I love your live videos please make one
How long do you think parts will be available for the victory motorcycles?
While wanting to buy American, the price is beyond me in that I don't ride to have a status symbol, nor do I desire to wear a brand at all times joining a cult.
Victory's were definitely cool bikes. I wonder about the parts availability. They said they would continue to carry them but how long. And parts aren't really going to be in demand for a few years so what does that mean to someone buying say a Cross Country a couple years old.
I want Victory back too..I love Highball
Victory did have some cool bikes.
Sean, without question Victory was a well made bike and when they arrived on the scene 20 years ago they made it their mission to take down HD, or at least steal away a significant percentage of their market share. At a time when HD was still using the twin cam 88, Victory had a 106 cu in motor and a six speed tranny. I believe pressure from Vic and other manufacturers pushed HD to up their game…which they did. Unfortunately Victory just didn't resonate with most buyers, as evidenced by the low sales numbers. They lost money year after year all awhile Polaris kept pouring money in to the brand to hopefully find something that buyers wanted. To compete with the HD touring class bikes, they eventually came out wth the Vision which was just a hideous looking piece of machinery. Way too much of a movie prop looking bike…like from a scene from Judge Dredd. I think that was the beginning of an identity crisis for Victory. Seemed like they didn't know what direction to go in. With a bike like that, they clearly weren't going to sway Ultra Classic buyers away from the the HD showrooms. During their brief 20 year history, they did make some better, more conservative looking bikes that weren't as polarizing to look at, but still…they lacked something in their formula that kept people away. I test rode numerous Victory's at dealers shows, even had a couple friends who were early adopters and bought a couple. I was never particularly impressed with any of the bikes I rode that really made me think twice about choosing a Vic over a new Harley. Victory's were different…but after all the novelty wore out, there wasn't much left to keep people's interest. Still…they are well made, well engineered bikes and from what I've heard, reliable too. So those are the pluses. In the final analysis, Polaris did the only sensible thing they could do. Seeing that Indian sales were skyrocketing and already accomplishing what Victory was never able to do in their 20 years, they decided to put all their efforts in to Indian. Very smart move. Indian does resonate with buyers and they have more of an emotional connection to the brand. The heritage and nostalgia for the brand has helped I'm sure to a significant degree also, which is something Victory never had.
the white wall cost you the money on the tire.
You're wrong about it being a direct attack on you, it was a direct attack on me. My dealer found out on facebook like I did 🙁
That tire gouge is ridiculous ! Cost me a bout $300 installed.
Never been a big fan of Victory. Not a lot of parts support.
Actually what killed Victory was the new International environmental regulations for foreign markets. Indian met the new standards and Victory did not. The cost was just unsustainable for all the victory models which would have to be redesigned to meet the standards. Foreign markets are huge in motorcycle sales.
I just bought one and by the time I had it for a year realized it was worth nothing I understand that they want to focus on Indian but Indian is way to Retro and not a lot of people wanted victory was on the rise competing with Harley to the point where Harley started doing flat paints like the victories and sending the bikes out with ape hangers from stock.. apparently Harley felt it.. if they didn't want to have two companies they should have merge them and slapped Indian name on the victories and that way they would have the best of both worlds and had real competition for Harley the Indians look like something my grandfather would ride the victories are what the young guys want to ride if they would have kept them together on the one Banner they would have won
when I was looking for a bike I wanted it to look like a victory high-ball if I bought a Harley or a metric Cruiser I was going to put the work into it to make it look like the victory when I saw the victory I said that is the exact bike I want they made them to look like $50,000 custom choppers… they are awesome and they go fast as hell it was a big mistake to let them go
Dude, wtf are u wearing ?
