  • I miss the angles that was on the Victory's. But i will say that some of the india's look good too. Great break down of this topic.

  • If Indian produce a water cooled head touring bike, it will be by by Harley for me.

  • I can not speak to the build quality of the brand. The styling of the Indian brand is not appealing to me. It seems to be stuck on a 50's retro look. We have no Indian dealership in town. By far HD rules here. That said, who knows how any bike manufacturer will survive as I am not sure how many of the younger generations become new riders buying motorcycles. In my little microcosm I see young riders on sporty bikes while aging boomers tend to be on cruisers. RSMF Cheers

  • Really? I almost never see any of the high dollar Indians. The Scouts seem to sell pretty well, but there's not much margin in those. Most of those are likely sold to veterans with heavy discounts too.
In my area Polaris' bread and butter is 4x4s. Dealers are always selling those. Still a ton of leftover Indian tourers in my area.
Still, Indians are the Polaris CEO's baby. Hard for me to believe he would kill it even if it bleeds money. The rest of the company will mask that. Get another CEO and they could well get axed.
There were a ton of recalls on Polaris 4×4 and Slingshots that bit into Polaris $$$ quite heavily.

  • Had lunch during business week ( Indian dealership close to my work) with an insider (friend) at dealership, won't go into to much here, but you spoke about it, sales, parts and service, deficiency's in parts and service .

  • I would say no way Indian makes it, but your comment below about merchandising might be what they're really after. Good point!

  • I don't see many Indian motorcycles here, but lots of HD. I was at a Victory dealer this summer but now they are selling Indian instead, I tested the Scout and i loved it! I hope they stay in business, but big cruisers aren't selling very good anymore.

  • the bikes look good as well I like the look better then victory

  • I hate when people go off about death wobbles haha like you said low tires can do it etc .. mainly poor maintenance is the cause etc..

  • Polaris has done an awesome job with the Indian brand.  There is nothing but growth for the Indian brand.  I own several bikes and a few of them are Indian's and plan on picking up another Indian in 2018, probably the 2018 Indian Chieftain Darkhorse.
All of my Indian's look and ride awesome, I ride with several other people, most of which own Harley's and when we go out, stop or lunch or gas, it's my Indian that people come over to have a look at and talk about, not the dime a dozen Harley's.

Polaris has expanded the brand from 3 bikes just 4 years ago to 17 models and 2 product lines, they have after market companies jumping onto the bandwagon.  There will be more and more dealers wanting to sell the Indian brand which also means more service, Indian is here to stay, Polaris is making money off products and merchandise, Indian is here to stay, in fact, they are also talking about an Electric Indian.

  • Good afternoon "Big Cheese" another very informative video. Always looking forward to the next one. The Indian "Road master Elite" That is one sweet piece of engineering.
Excellent attention to detail in the fit and finish. Although a tad pricey between 31K and 37K depending upon the dealership. I really enjoyed the test ride. A very smooth ride,
acceleration and braking were on par with the Indian quality, too. Alas I have an HD UltraGlide in my sights.Cheers, Mate.

  • I have only seen an Indian just a few times down here in the south. I like the design of the Scout. Great vlog and informative my friend! P.S. I noticed your approaching the 2k sub mark and congrats on it. I love this channel and have learned a lot about the motorcycle industry from watching it. Well deserved!

  • You make some good points and I agree (as you said) that Indian could make some real strides ahead in the industry if they focused on dealer/service issues. I ride HD and love the brand…the after sale issues could really use a tune up (in my opinion of course!) …it's raining…holy crap! turn that bike around and get home brother!  I too got caught in a little drizzle back in August..luckily I got her home and wiped off before any damage was done!  🙂

  • I hope Indian stay, I was very close to buying one, I just love the old look. RSM8

  • Not everyone likes the look of an Indian motorcycle.

  • I think Indian will be just fine, but I understand how some can be nervous about them.

  • I don't Like the looks on the INDIAN BIKES

  • Hello!
I like riding in the night.

Motorcycles are vibrant in Southeast Asia.
There are motorcycle factories of Japanese manufacturers in India.
    Honda
    Suzuki
    Yamaha
One Suzuki Motorcycle is imported to Japan.
However, it will be customized to Japan specification.
    Is Indian motorcycle safe?
    I do not know. LOL.
    Thank you my friend (^ ^) /

  • Some of the Indians look nice, but they need to update a few things, just to give them a modern day look. Ride safe bro.

  • Scouts are selling great. The new bobber is hot. Yeah, not everyone can afford the big 20 -30k bikes, but the Scout, Scout 69, Bobber are bringing in new people. Indian is a great historic name and will surpass Victory in no time. Indian is here to stay.

  • It's a Beautiful Bike, comfortable, and just like it was in its hay day dependable.

  • I bought a Springfield in 16. So far 15000 miles. Run it in rush hour traffic. No overheating issues. Love the bike. Love the classic styling. And now they make bikes with smaller front fender. The scout bobber is a nice looking bike as well.

  • I would like to see Indian come out with an inline 4 cylinder but slimmed down from current Chief styling more like '41 styling. Harley fan boys should buy Harleys.

  • Harley-Davidson (NYSE:HOG) might not have anything to worry about yet from Indian Motorcycle, but those objects in its rearview mirror are getting closer than they appear. The big bike rival from Polaris Industries (NYSE:PII) crossed over into double-digit market share in September, and there doesn't appear to be many obstacles in its way to continue gaining ground on the industry leader. A patch of rough pavement There's no doubt the U.S. motorcycle market is in decline, something both Harley-Davidson and Polaris agree on. But whereas Harley's sales are stuck in a continuous downward spiral, Polaris has been able to notch substantial sales growth quarter after quarter. U.S. sales for Harley-Davidson …

  • Indian is doing extremely well !! The ONLY motorcycle up in sales ( 17%) Harley is down 7% ! Indian has quickly grabbed 10% market share and Harley's share has dropped to 20% from 27%

  • All I know is if you want a great deal on a used, low mileage Harley, go to your Indian dealer.

  • Indians are the best. Hands down. PERIOD!!

  • HD riders came up with this did they? the indian name is famous, victory is not, it was one or the other, not both.
