Royal Enfield Bullet Machismo 500 – Chrome Polishing
The Royal Enfield Bullet Machismo is full of chrome – and I am feeling really sorry that I have to tell: this chrome everywhere is looking very nice, but it takes really a lot of work to keep it shining.
Some screws and other parts of the bike become very fast matt and even little bit rusty, because their finishing is of relatively bad quality – but using regularly a polishing paste, which is good for use with chromium surfaces as well as with polished aluminium parts, can help a lot.
The work itself is relatively easy: after washing the bike, let it completely dry. Then apply the paste, let it dry, and then polish it nicely. Do it in the shadow, this will help to keep everything nicely shining, and You don´t have to sweat too much …
Vasanthama is performing that job, and as usual, she does it just excellent!
And for those who did not see my first cleaning video, or did not read the description there, some more details:
– this should be a funny video, pl. don´t take it serious
– Vasanthama loves the Machismo and likes to clean it (and I don´t like to clean it at all, I prefer technical maintenance and riding, of course – so we have a clear win-win-situation)
– according to me, she is really benchmark in Machismo cleaning, it looks always perfect, and since she does it carefully, nice and needly, I had never any technical problems from water or so
– Vasanthama is neither my wife nor my girlfriend (and she is a married mother with kids).

I have the same bullet …but lot of parts have rusted already ..it is sad…..do you know how to get rid of the rust as it is still less and cud be fixed.
@harishpoduval3134 Since I did not find a good polish here in India, I brought last year something from Germany (Sonax brand) … But now I hope to get soon something similar here, because it is nearly empty now. The problem is that one should polish more or less weekly or so … some screws seem even to turn rusty whiles I am watching them after rain …;-)
Hello brother..
Use "3M" rubbing compound. You can get it from paint shops. It removes rust within seconds. It can be also used on all metals. Cost around 50 rupees. I'm using it and it's really good and fast working. Apply the past on metals and buff. The more you buff with a cloth the more it gets shining. I use it regularly on aluminium and chrome. Don't use on regular paint.
@arunarun4 wow thanks a lot, my Sonax is nearly finished now, so I will try that 3M asap … or more probably: Vasanthama may try … 😉
Btw: any idea how to remove some melted rests of some slippers which got anyhow married with the exhaust?
@bangalorebobbel
It's really simple. Even I had that problem. Buy a new razor blade(shaving blade). Take the blade in your hand. Cover your hand to protect from heat. When the silencer is hot turn off the engine and use the blade to scratch of the melted residue. ***IMP*** Don't scratch the chrome in 90 degree __|__ . Use it in a sliding position like this __/__. The more you can keep low angle; less chance for scratch. This will help not to scratch the chrome/paint and regain the beauty.
@arunarun4 1 more wow – I was definitely mentally blocked: of course one should do it when the silencer is hot! I tried in cold state, so it was hard as granite … 😉
Tnx a lot & njoy!
cor I am getting a hard on
Oh…I'm going to New Deli with a Sitar on my Knee
haha, yes that fits well – nIt rained all night the day I left the weather it was dry, the sun so hot, I froze to death … with a Sitar on my Knee … 😉
