Thank you, very interesting.
Thank you sir.
Wow what memories. I used to go to brands often in the 60s, the great Derek Minter, and remember the sidecar handicap races, Chris Vincent at his best.
Great Video, keep it up mate.
Fascinating! Thanks!

fantastic, thanks for posting these , great commentary too
These bring back great memories of when one mate used to race a 350 MAC Velo and another a Rocket Gold Star at Croft and Silloth in the 60s and early 70s. Mac Hobson was the local sidecar hero, even in his early days he was brilliant. On one occasion I remember the American Lance Wiell (spelling?) on a racing Harley compared with the British racers it went round corners like a kangaroo on drugs respect to him!!!
@notwocdivad i remember them all i always thought chris vincent was the best sidecar man.
lovely to see these i have been looking for old footage and photos was looking to upload some of my dads racing photographs cant seem to find anywhere other than youtube i thought there might be a historical page on auto 66 or eboracum but it appears not sadly ..
But surely not a MAC? Venom, yes – Viper, yes – but not a MAC, nice though they were.
Yep The old 350 long stroke plodder. My mate got the same reaction when he told us what he was intending. After tuning and fitting into a lightweight Stevens racing frame it was outrunning 350 goldies and outhandling them too until he fitted an 8 leading shoe front brake (4ls either side) when applied in anger it made the front forks bend like longbows, fitting short roadholders cured that. Those days you ran what you could afford. Cheers Dave
fantastic mate nice pics,regards bill.
Your beeza is a sweet looking machine, and I certainly appreciate your video of fond memories, I love it, and will share it with my Son in the States, God Bless.
Excellent! More Please.
Thanks for this video. Some great photos. They take me back to Brands. I like the BSA too! Best regards to you!
Great days lad…I remember them well. Lovely interesting photos and well presented. You must do a search on you-tube for Mike Hailwood…I found really rare footage and interviews that I never even knew existed. I really enjoy all of your videos.
Hi Road Rocket. Love the photos. I'm writing a book about BSAs A65 and by chance was talking to Tony Smith a few weeks ago. Saw that early shot of him on the Lightening Clubman (I think it might be his Rainbow Motorcycles one rather than the works one he rode later?). I don't suppose you have any others?
Keep up the good work!
Pete
PS. Sorry didn't realise I was logged in as my wife. I'm Pete not Sujana!
Interesting photos. Takes me back to the mid 60`s, when a mate I worked with used to race. The old vans and bone dome helmets. My mate was Martin Carney, who was a gas fitter with me and raced Bultacos at weekends. He even had an old ex gas board Ford Thames 15cwt van to carry his machine around in. Then he raced up the ratings and his career took off, becoming 125 and 250 champion, then moved on to race bigger bikes from other manufacturers. He entered the TT quite a few times. I think he now lives in the US, and I haven`t seen him for many years now. The memories are good.
Enjoyed that, thanks for sharing. Visited Brands myself a few times in the mid 60s but my memory isn't as good as yours. Do remember Hailwood on the 250 Honda, I think the six, plus Bill Ivy, Phil Read, Statsney on the Jawa and my pal Ossie's hero Minter. Numerous outfits including Fritz Shideiger, Max Deubell, Bill Bodice and of course C.V.
