I have been riding 50 years now. I have a 2011 Cross Roads. I was thinking Indian, but they are just like a Harley in looks. I heard the news Victory was going to stop production. So, I just dropped thousands on my Vic. Performance and chrome. I will ride it til I'm gone. Man it is fast now and a real looker.
this sucks but hopefully the Indians will get better as a result… idk?
Best of Luck . Victory's are great bikes. Indians are great too. Victory has unique bikes.
I had two good days with my Victory. The day I bought it, and the day I sold it.
I know I have 1999 V93 C and have worn out tires and a drive belt hope you aren't full of B.S. put your phone number out so I can order parts my dealer is not so good at getting parts for my old victory he says I schoud get a newer one and I don't have that problem I can find some things but clutch cable has been a problem thanks
Still got my eye on a 8 ball Vision. Cool is still cool!
Nice bikes, just don't sell…….
DEAD DREAM FOR ME.. I WAS EXPECTING TO SEE IT HERE IN BRASIL
Only a fool would buy one of these bikes now. They were hard enough to get parts for before. You think they're going to give a damn about you now. Just wait until you have a problem, you'll be sorry. Buyer beware!
Polaris shut down Victory because it was a value brand that made Polaris less per unit than they make on Indian. They are putting all their money in Indian because Indian and Harley are both Premium brands and more are made per unit on those bikes. The people hurt by this are the American consumer… Having Victory only puts downward pressure on pricing on all American motorcycles…
LMFAO Victory claimed they were going to be the next great American made V Twin. Buy a bike from a company that builds bikes not snowmobiles ! Why would any one buy an Indian ? Indian has gone out of business more time then Polaris makes ATV's. You would be an idiot to invest in an Indian. Stop buying wannabes. Buy a Harley !
No, Victory is not abandoning us, POLARIS IS.
Just to add my opinion (which aint worth much at my age LOL) the demise
of Victory started way back at the beginning
when Polaris turned their backs on the dealerships and purchasers of the
early bikes with the severe design flaws. Our local Polaris dealership
kicked them to the curb back then because of their lack of following up
on their commitments, our "bikers" never forgot being stuck with boat
anchors and seeing a
Polaris Victory in our area is a very rare sight to this day.
Hopefully we dont have to relive that scene here 18 years later and
Polaris honors their commitment to honor warranties and keep the parts
supply lines open as they say they will. If they
dont, its not inconceivable that their Indian line will end up suffering
too – in my opinion of course..
Be sure to collect them.
Dam I rather buy victory the Indian…
I think Polaris should be sued
After I read the announcement, I walked out of the office to my Vision in the parking lot. I love looking at my vision, I love riding it and I can't describe the warm feeling I get knowing the day will be going away and ride will be starting. Like you I am keeping this fine motorcycle. At 40,000 miles I feel that I am just breaking it in. Years ago I said that if there was only one Vision made I would try to own it. Victory owners, ride on!!
hey it's Willy nelson
Another geriatric hippie riding 900 pound pieces of shit.
Always sad to see an American company go away. I never disliked the Victory bikes, but never considered buying one either. Their bikes looked and felt too "metric" to me. To be fair, I never wanted a V-Rod either. I don't hate it, but wouldn't spend my money on one.I like the look of the Indians, but for me Indian went away in 1953. Everything else is just whatever the current owner of the name decides to trot out as an alternative to H-D. I really feel bad for Victory dealers whose inventory and owners whose bikes are going to take at least a short term nose dive in value. Dealers invested a lot of money getting a franchise only to be thrown to the dogs. Polaris must have gained a lot of confidence form all of their ATV and Side by Side recalls.
The only way to recreate a New Perpecstive down to Earth is to let JESSIE JAMES take over the Concept of those technically advanced fMotorcycles , compared to Potatoes…
I'm sure a big part of their decision for going with Indian was the heritage name but I feel if they focused more on victory they had a better shot also they need to stop trying to compete with Harley and focus more on themselves be unique don't be Harley in in time sales would come but what do I know I'm sure they have the numbers behind everything.
Polaris put the death nail in the Victory coffin the day they brought back Indian, it just took some time.Sad, but in business the almighty dollar rules.
Slingshots and sniwmobiles? Fuck Polaris.
