How to “Cafe” a Motorcycle Frame and Build a Custom Battery Box | KZ400 Tracker Build | PART 3
In this episode we tackle the foundation of the bike… the frame! I’m going to show how I went from a stock frame to a completely stripped frame along with how I built a brand new battery box out of an Army surplus ammo box.
Let me know if the songs get annoying. In longer videos I feel that too much silence can be deafening and want to keep a little something going on in the background.
Also, let me know how you like these longer videos. I’m trying to go in-depth a bit more, but can’t really go crazy with filming EVERYTHING… hence the skipping around a bit. Let me know in the comments below!

My favorite part – "These will look brand new… Because you won't see them… Yup" haha
Great Progress 🙂 Projects coming along nicely.
yay weekly, waited forever for this video
excited for more videos wish I could find more builds like this on here!!
looks like it's coming along well. I love the black with gold accents. Is that light just a universal one? I need one for my 77 kz400, tbh I haven't even looked for one but I really like the one you got there. I'm waiting for the video on making it an electric start, I like my kick start but for convenience sake.
Oh are those the same shocks from that one guy that did a cafe racer build on youtube too lol
Amazing work. I can't believe this doesn't have more views
great potential. Keep it simple though, don't over-do it on all the different colours and finishes. The simpler everything ties in together the more ull love it
What'd you use to paint engine and what polish?!
is there a tutorial for how you painted the engine?
what shocks are those?
what are the demotions for the battery box? specifically what is the depth. I assume the length and width are similar to a stock ammo can.
I'd like to see what the stock battery box and location are if you have any links for that
I'm on Episode 3. Nice work so far. I appreciate you taking the time to film this as I'm about to take on my first ever build (of any kind). Apparently welding skills come in handy as does a welder and grinder. Love it! Keep at it. Looking forward to Ep.4.
i love when people take the time to do a custom job and not just hobble crap together.
Sub 👍
great build man
Dang dude this is coming out sick as hell
The Kittery trading post got
The dank deals
Tacking something 50 times is not welding lol..but nice job
