The stator is part of the charging system of the bike and is responsible for charging the battery as well as providing the necessary current to power the entire bike.
A broken or defective stator can be responsible for many problems in the elettrical system.
Custom Cez, with the help of Polsky Rage and new team member Jacek, take apart the primary cover and primary transmission to uncover the faulty stator for replacement.
In this video we have used a 1991 Harley Davidson fxst softail, in other models the process might differ.
We will also take a look at the back stage of Italian band “Le Mura”‘s latest music video, were the entire crew of Roma Custom Bike is featured along with some beautifull vampire strippers.
Special thanks go to the video director Luna Gualano.
What did we do:
– footboard and shift peg removal
– oil drain
– primary transmission cover and chain removal
– removal of primary chain adjustment shoe
– compensation sprocket removal
– rotor removal
– removal and replacement of the stator
– re-assembly
– stator diagnostic and functional testing
Made in Rome, Italy we take a look at an European approach to modifying and customizing an Harley Davidson with Custom Cez, an amateur customizer in his home shop.
An RMPnet.com production, music by FAS.

Hey Cez good to see a new video. I was going to bitch at you on the other Italian video that I hadn't seen much from you and no English when you did. Thankfully I spotted the link to the vid in English on the side bar. Keep them coming .
Hi Cez. This is an amazing idea. But…tell me…confidentially…why u glad to get the reflection lights on your sunglasses while you talk to your fan ? This is a very bad way to set the light. It looks like a beginners work and doesn't makes good on your project. Thinks better about ! Have fun !!! Kisses to your family
You're way too cool!!!!
How can I get one of your shirts?
Nice work Cez. Good to see some 'improvised' tools being used.
hahahahahahaaaa you funny ..and how you remove the stator regulation …
cheers ……….. un amigo
It is a lot safer to wedge a block of wood in between the teeth on our clutch and crank metal is just going to mess up your teeth.
Very helpful, but too much talking! Geez!
Hot mount stripper vampiressas; I like.
This is a very common problem on H-D, big twins……….due to the bad, design placement of the stator, into the hottest part of the engine, right up against the lower crankcase where the heat is intensified………thus "baking" the stator windings……heat and critical electrical charging components is a big no, no………..but, H-D, sells lots of stators, and the labor costs associated with the stator, replacement. Have to disassemble the entire primary drive to get to the stator……….same thing with the starter, located right behind the hot rear cylinder under the oil tank, have to take off the seat, battery, and the entire oil tank, and lines, just to get to the starter and this is another critical electrical charging system component, subject to intense engine heat………..that's a Harley for you…….
Q: What is a Harley owner's favorite accessory for his bike? A: a pickup truck…….
That's only cause you don't ride your bike much…….any H-D, that sits in the garage is not going to burn out any stator or starter…….most H-D, owners don't ride much, according to a study commissioned by Harley itself……the average, owner, only logs, 1,150 miles a year, and for every owner who rides, 10,000 miles a year…….there are 8 new owners who only ride………are you ready?………only 600 miles a year. That is why there are so many 25 year old H-Ds, for sale, any day of the week, with very low mileage on the odometer. Again, the only way to burn out the stator and starter is to ride and get that engine hot…….and the stator will be "baked" and the starter will go, too.
Q: Why is Harley one of the safest bikes on the road? A: Cause they don't go fast enough to get hurt on. he, he, LOL. Ride hard or stay home……..
Yes, I agree those are low numbers, but, they are Harley's own numbers as a result of their own study to know there customer base riding habits well. But, just look at the mileage of many Harleys for sale, and the mileage on the odometer, repeatedly bears their numbers out. Most are very low mileage bikes, which look in pristine condition, which results from a lot of TLC, in the garage and not much actual riding on the street or open road………..lot of weekend warriors or bar hoppers, who call themselves real bikers, just cause they own a Harley.
It's common to grind floorboards or foot pegs, on extreme lean angles on different bikes, and H-Ds are no exception. I will have to check out your google glass video, which to date, I have not seen……yet.
How true, or gap them properly.
Roma? Well, when in Italia and Roma, do as the Romans do………ah, THE ETERNAL CITY……..where the Vestal Virgins once served………..
Or one of the Vestial Virgins is on your backseat, right? Almost impossible to find a Vestial Virgin, these days for the backseat…….he, he, LOL.
Yeah, some guys can't even change the oil or filter, even…….
Cool vid dude, love the commentary. Tabernac!
S Hos: For the record, I do enjoy Harleys, just not the Twin Cam series, produced from '99-to the present, as they are not the same design as the older model, EVOS, SHOVELHEADS and PANHEAD, bikes of yesteryear. I don't like the engine design or inherent problems of the Twinkies. I have enjoyed riding Harleys over the years, and my brother, rides a 2015, Street Glide. His choice, just as I choose not, too. But, he trades his bike in every 2 years, and so, he doesn't put that many miles on his bikes, before he flips them, so, if you want to always have a payment and a new bike, with low miles, you should be okay. I buy a bike and ride it till its service life is gone, and get me another used bike. So, different strokes for different folks. The new model Sportsters are great cause they still use the EVO designed engines, and are quite reliable.
If nothing else work!! ya got to bring out the pipe wrench.and take care of buissines ha ha ha ha ha
Its actually 14 volts AC per 1000 RPM.
