Thought it was 1100 for your meet up?
I think the 1050 tiger will be what I change the bird for hopefully next year, ill get S/H though want same as Northern Vloggers. I work on the basis of if your even thinking of an upgrade then you should but if your happy you may as well keep it I know £600 is steep but you've got 9000 miles to save it lol
Good choice. I have a 2013 Speed Triple and love it. Done a couple 350-400 mile days and no problems. Other than my ass.
Do they ever put decent tyres on a new bike?
Might be worth servicing it yourself at that point.
Bike is nice Kev
Just passed my big bike test so on look out for bike myself
lovely bike and nice colour. I do like white bikes!! more of a sportier look in my eyes x
Great bikes for sure, they always look very tall to get on though and with full luggage would seem like I'd have to do a high roundhouse to get on it….I can't do a high roundhouse either :)
Check out the Madstad screen. I tried a couple of MRA's, but the Madstad is great – height and cant adjustable, variety of sizes…
It's good to see you are happy with the change in bike style. Your proposed next bike will be just as pleasant, the Tiger Sport looks awesome. I have just returned from doing the Stelvio Pass (and other local passes) on my Tiger 1050- two days in the saddle to get there with no aches or sore bits. Have fun on your ride out this weekend, RSMF.
Great bike. Had mine 18months but only done 6thou miles. Wanted an adventure bike but hate the GS, alloy panniers with nothing in them and don't go anywhere scene .The 800 Trip/odometer is a pain, as is the chain guard and exposed rear shock. Recently done stelvio and north Italy for 3 weeks, no aches but front tyre did wash out down hill a few times but I was loaded up. Tyres are too hard and I've still got loads of life on them. 1050 may be next for me as the explorer is too big. The 800 at the moment, ticks all the boxes….. PS, would have liked to come on the ride this weekend but i'm doing a scooter rally in Nottingham….shit timing again. RS.
I'm glad it's working out so well. Take care.
I'm so jelly…love that bike.
Nice one Kev, it sounds great with that arrow one mate. Ride safe.
The "real world" versatility of that bike as you mentioned is huge. And the fact that it also has the luggage option along with good passenger accommodations just makes that much better of a bike than many others. Congrats, and I hope you continue to enjoy it as you go.
great to hear your thoughts on the tiger 800.
i'm thinking about upgrading to a tiger (riding suzuki sv650s now).
as i also commute on my bike i really like the thought of handguards, heated grips, and a more right up sitting position.
kind of doubting wether to go for the 800 or the 1050 but leaning towards the 800 as i like the look of it better. (but test rides will make me decide).
Still have a bit of saving up to do so still have a couple of months to decide :(
I've added it to my list of bikes to consider :o)
the traction is fine in the wet when riding in rain mode, its in dry conditions the rear tyre on grooved and bumpy roads make the rear loose grip and can make the rider uneasy at times especially on bends also the front damping needs too be adjustable as on the XCX as on uneven surfaces the ride becomes uncomfortable at times, I have the same model and colour as you have and I have every extra fitted including a larger screen, it needs a rear hugger which I have not got, but the larger the screen the more vibration you get, my bkie is a month older than yours and done a similar mileage, like you I will keep it for awhile. regards, Colin.
shhhhh, don't tell anyone, but I'm putting a deposit down on monday then picking up the following Saturday. I've heard about the peg issue, is it really bad? does it happen often?
My next bike. Same colour and fitting the arrow with the baffle taken out…perfect. Can't wait to get one.
Thanks. This was a really helpful video. Have just road tested an XRX and coming from a CB500X the extra torque was an exciting revelation. I also tried the big Tiger Adventure, but found the larger bike's motor less refined and the gears clunky compared to the slick change on the 800.
What is the red bleeping accessory tight to your front brake reservoir?
Got one and love it, thanks.
Got the same in black, I agree on the tyres. Got the new Bridgestones A40 really goog!
Yes, I got the blue one, in part due to your reviews. Thanks mate! Only bitch I have is the weather here. Not taking it out on ice.
My only worry is the welded passenger pegs and people saying a tip over might wreck the frame. What do you think? Is there some slider that could help?
Mr. Infamous, thanks for your review and thoughts…I'm looking at getting an XRx to go for longer trips around OZ and this video has been very helpful to narrow the choice of bikes which best suit me…stay upright :-)
Can't wait to get my XRT :-)
Hesitating between the Tiger and the Street twin, 90% city riding. How do you find the Tiger in town?
Cheers, I've already test driven the Tiger and loved most things about it. The only think that I wasn't sure about was the high centre of gravity and wondered about cornering. I also tested the BMW r1200r and liked it a lot. But the Tiger has a much nicer sounding engine!
i cant wait to get mine ,, ive had loads of bikes and on the test i did from youles in blackburn i fell in love with this bike
Just purchased a 2014. Can't wait to take delivery.
thanks for the video. I am thinking on getting a bike to commute to London, around 25 miles each way. I had a look at the gs1200, but this one looks pretty well too, for less money. How is in winter/rain? Bearable?
Thanks again mate.
I bought a 2016 Tiger 800 XCA about 2 months ago in green. I absolutely love it. It's a completely dreamy bike to me.
Hi. Considering buying the XRX and your review really helped answer some questions I had. Thanks for that.
How's the bike holding up? It's been an year since this video.
Good video. I'm thinking of getting the Tiger XRX Low in the coming weeks, but got a few questions and hope you can help. How's the reliability, have you had any issue with it since you got it? What's the service cost like? And do you know whether there's a newer model due soon for the XRX 800 as this model has been out for a few years already and I don't want to buy new and then they bring out a newer model soon. Many thanks for your time.
Nice review.
I'm selling my Kwaka KLX400 tomorrow morning (hopefully) and I've got a test ride of a 2013 XC (13,000 kms) with all the trimmings in the afternoon.
I live 2km down a dirt road, so the off road capabilities will mean it will last longer than a sport bike.
My commute is about 35 minutes and it entails every type of road you can think of. – dirt roads, country roads, motorway, towns and suburbs. The KLX is bloody awful on the road, and I never ride it any more, so tomorrow its GONE!!!
I've found some newer XR models considerably cheaper, but I think the XC will butter my muffin nicely…
I've even found an Arrow slip-on exhaust on feeBay too…
great review really useful as I am looking at a new bike
