Caveman Royal Enfield Motorcycle Mechanic

The clutch hub on my Royal Enfield Bullet Motorcycle was completely worn out and unfixable. I didn’t have a proper clutch hub puller, so I tried using a generic puller and completely mangled the clutch hub. If you’re pulling your clutch hub and don’t want to ruin it, I recommend buying the factory clutch hub puller tool. Mine was really stuck on there tight.

  • Hello,  I see most comments are OLD…but hope you still get these when they come in.  I live in Ecuador and recently bought a 350 Classic 2012….super low miles/kilometers.  Well…I thought I was removing the filler/inspection bolt for the transmission…but when I "finally" got it out…I got this sinking feeling seeing it had to sets of threads…the bolt thread itself for the case and then a smaller extension on the lower part of the shaft was threaded also.  As I found out once replacing it….the lower thread obviously controlled something in the transmission as to changing gears.  I immediately shut the bike down, but as you probably know…was not able to get the bike to shift back down or into neutral.  So my question is HOW BAD did I screw up.  What do I need to do to get it back functioning properly.  And actually….it might have been a blessing in disguise…I was checking because I do think my gear oil was LOW…when I stuck a wire into the case to use as a dipstick…I didn't bet much oil showing after hitting the bottom of the case….so maybe it's a good thing I "screwed up" with my intent to check things.  If you could write me at redwulf3@juno.com and give me a phone number or just send a message that would be GREATLY appreciated.  There are not any "really" good mechanics here and none that are proficient with this machine.  Thank you very much, Mike Sager
