"Querer Es Poder" literally means "To Want is To Can", which doesn't sound quite right in English… so best way to translate it is "Where There Is A Will There Is A Way". Alberto came up with his life motto in a hospital in Asturias after he had suffered his aneurysm during the Vuelta a Asturias in 2004. I was present at that race and since then he has been my absolute cycling idol. I knew him a year before, but since that difficult moment in his life, if anything, Alberto has taught me that if you want to overcome any hardship, just put your mind to it and you can battle and conquer any adversity. Thanks to GCN for this video and all the videos you offer us. P.S. The only thing that is missing on his bike is his famous Pistolero logo. Would have been a nice touch, imho.
Wouldn't he lose a lot of time from the complete lack of aero features?
I never realized how much difference in height there is between the seat and the handle bar until Dan stood next to it at the end.
Reluctantly he must've given.in to di2 because obviously.not keen.on it until now.
That bike looks cheap.to me, is it the paint, the hideous gumwalls or just the geometry. The chain staff look.long.
I thought 1:16 was Berties favorite cuts of STEAK
Hey GCN, we need more bloopers videos!
DAN! FREE HUB NOISE! C'MON.
I wrap my bar tape the exact same way and it's still tight on the handlebars after a year of daily use.
Dan, I fear you've been set-up by one of your Spanish speaking comrades. Shame on you, Matt, trying to even the score for all those videos of you falling off or over.
Great man, big rider, super bike 🙂
Ok, ok…after 100 same comments, we get what that spanish means.
Btw, hate than tan wall tyres
Love is power guys!!!
The weight anybody
Gracias Alberto, and chapeau dear chap.
What a rider, what a career, and what a way to go out in a blaze of glory.
As with many other races- this years vuelta was brought alive by the talents of mr Contador.
One of few people, that I can honestly say will be truly truly missed from the sport.
Chapeau.
I cannot stop laughing at the editing around the mechanical rear mech :')
New series idea: What procyclists do after retirement?
Errrr wait what!, "love is power", flower power?! Querrer es poder means something in the lines of "if there's a will, there's a way".
Lloydy love your work but next time just ask Matt, Bertie's BFF : )
Would be interesting the weight of the bike
Boy you are going to get killed for your translation. @danlloyd This is your new di2 gaffe 😁 Next time don't use Google translate
tears in my eyes after watching this video after stage 20, emo AF after knowing what was written on that stem cap!! I'm sure it did something magical to Contador in all his attacks throughout this year's Vuelta.
What's with the seat post on this bike, is it odd or is it just the colour scheme making it look like it's a strange configuration?
subscribed and notification squad hopefully i win
When is Contador joining the GCN team?
a video celebrating a cheater who was never stripped of his wins
Querer es poder = if you want you can 😉
If there's a will, there's a way is a more acurate translation
I am delighted to see that TREK put the names of each race Contador won. Did they put an asterisk for the races for which he was doping??
Are you going to do a video about the special adaptations for climbing Los Machucos and L'Anglirú?
Contador was a old school rider. Now a new era comes … and I think I will not like. Now the chronometre and the director will tell how to ride.
Attack, try to give some show, that is what Contador gives as many riders have done in the 90´s an less in the last years. But now what we will see?
Attack Till The End.
Despite all the translation arguments in the comments section below , I think the bike looks awesome !
When there is a will there is a way….. And a Google Search engine wouldn't hurt either!!!!
Look better with disc brakes.
Contador embodied the spirit of cycling. The pro peleton will not be the same without him. When Val Verde retires, it really will be the end of an era. Only Sagan comes close to entertaining, and that's mostly just because he is better than anyone else. Contador could light up a race even if he was pedalling squares. One more year Bertie?!
wanting is power is probably more accurate 😉
Attack till the end !!!
HAHAHAHA Love is power! Oh my god! please try not to use Google Translator, there are so many webs for translating that kind of sentences :P. There´s a will there´s a way men! On the other hand, stunning bike but very self-centered on Alberto
"Querer es poder" = if there's a will, there's a way.
I love how this bike makes Dan look like a giant
Stellar, if chequered career, you mean. A great entertainer and likeable of course too.
Can't stop LMAO at 0:37
Sorry Dan,
min 2:02 translation is "where there's a will there's a way" – in english.
My favorite cyclist , I will miss him.
The tape is double wrapped. Hence the top to bottom wrap
