2017 Indian Scout Sixty Motorcycle Review
2017 Indian Scout Sixty Motorcycle Review – Differing little but as it turns out significantly from the regular Indian Scout, this Scout Sixty offers just 9 CI less than it’s big brother but boy is that felt on the road. I was very curious what the rideability differences would be since on paper it’s minimal at best. Power wise I would spring for the regular any day for such a minimal price difference. Other than that you get some cost savings features like a lack of chrome especially on the engine. The transmission is down a gear however final gear on both are the same. Both bikes are simple in features and operation, with excellent fit & finish, slick shifts, great looks and both are a bargain if that’s what you are looking for. Neither however are anything like the rest of the American V-Twins out there, these ride like Japanese or European models, so it will be appealing to a different crowd.

Good looking cruiser
Get yours now, there filing for bankruptcy very soon along with Victory
what the hell is the purpose of "dry weight"?? Other than to piss old guys like me off lol Who gives a shit how much a bike weighs "dry" (except the shipper from mfg'r to dealer) Thanks for the videos especially reviews. Still watch the Motus one 🙂
I like them but just cannot get out of my head as this is just a brand badge change from a Victory. Victory sales were not great and Polaris had to do something so slapping a badge with heritage was their go to move and I am not sure if it is working. Do not see many on the road. Now that my little rant is over, Great video and great review. You answer all the questions one may have on this bike, at least you did for me. Thanks man, Take Care.
Nailed that review! I have a 16 and love it.
The influence of the Victory styling is noticeable. I would like to see them do something a little different in addition to their current offerings. Based on the fact that I rarely see one on the road, I am not sure if they will survive with the "nostalgia" theme. I like them, but not enough to buy one (now). I woiuld love to see them really compete with H-D. It will be difficult to change the hardcore H-D rider mindset.
Another great video Brian. Your vids are so much more informative than most of the other vids out there. Just wanted to say thanks for all the time and effort on your part to bring great reviews of motorcycles and cigars. I was waiting for a little hint on the big reveal but no such luck. I did see the last post on instagram but that guy might just be blowing smoke. Thanks again for the great reviews and keep them coming. Do you have any plans for a comparison vid for the Verys 650 and 1000?
Excellent and concise review, as usual. I can't even watch the paid shill reviews from the big motorcycle mags anymore. I know what you say is your honest and experienced take on a bike. Keep up the good work, man!
Nice review
Shit like this is making me want to actually get a bike. They say its a good starter. All in all I have had a better respect for cruisers then Crotch Rockets even as a kid.
Well, Polaris had a great display and demo rides of pretty much all their products at the 2017 MotoGP at COTA, including Victory bikes (display), slingshots and Indian bikes. Going away soon? Not so sure about that. In fact, hate to see motorcycle manufacturers go out of biz, less choices or us riders.
I like the looks of this one, but I'd want the bigger motor. Overall though, Indian just doesn't grab me.
Less chrome? I guess Dave Blanco's not a fan then !!! Lol
I want one of these what is the usual price people pay for one of the Indian scouts (NON sixty).
im a new rider, and would you recommend the scout 60 to a somewhat new rider? and can someone explain the concepts of countersteering, and is it used ONLY at high speeds, and is it used at all turns? and do you push in the opposite direction for the entire turn, or just in the begining of the turn, then push in the normal direction after countersteering?
200 on the speedo for metric markets. 200KM/h roughly 125M/h
Dope
Just another Polaris
For the price, the Scout and Scout 60 just can't tear me away from sport bikes. I wouldn't mind the idea of a second bike, and that bike being a cruiser. But not for such a price. I'd be more inclined to buy a ten year old Japanese cruiser for a couple grand. Cruisers just seem to be a lot of smoke and mirrors and not a lot of character, performance, or anything really for the price of them. If they were half the price, and became an economical way to get into motorcycles, I think they'd have much broader appeal.
I have a 2016 Scout Sixty and a 2011 Suzuki GSX Fa. My Scout has the exhaust upgrade. The Engine in the Scout is great. The author of this vlog is correct when he says the engine can be reved up. At 80mph (4250 rpm) the vibration isn't bad. I commuted 112 miles over motorway and Country lanes. The suspension is the only thing that lets it down. You will have to change the shocks. The rest of the vlog is highly accurate. Great Video.
Did 1000 miles in 23 hours and was fairly comfortable. scout sixty 2016
