1912 Pope (Boston, MA) OHV belt drive gets rimmed-up with 23’s. I normally want to strip everything for racing, but this Big Four is so complete that I must restore it.

That is awsome!
Yes! Keep it original.
What would you sell that for if its for sale
Where did that one come from? I bet it wasn’t in any dusty old barn!
Gotta love the Pope. Built 2 miles from my house here in Westfield Massachusetts!
Billy, always liked your work but, I have to say, I love where you’re at now! Being from Watertown, Mass ( right outside Boston) can’t wait to see this one finished.
I started watching Harley and the davidsons, and it’s amazing how someone could ride one. And it’s a good show
Sweet piece!!!! Can’t wait to see that in all of it’s glory……….Art !!!
Was the 1912 the last year for the belt drive on the Pope’s?
many of these caliper bikes are fetching the most money unrestored if that is worth considering. I love what you been doing with bikes. In fact your my favorite bike builder but Its is only original once
Cool man
So badass u ready for part 2 of Harley and the Davidsons
Four what? Valves?
Damn nice motor bike , don’t see many popes
The Pope was made in Westfield MA
The Columbia bicycle was made after in the same plant
You can still see the word Pope on the smoke stack
Watching you Billy ….seen the movie about the Harley, Davidsons passed two nights, & it’s an awesome story, & so are you Mr.Billy Lane… 🙂
Whatever you do don’t over-restore and take away it’s survivor status and patina! Get her running and as fully operational as possible, then I would just somehow preserve the rest…
i would get it running and leave it alone ..imo
That would be a good one to do the cannonball run
Good man,I agree with Jeremy don’t over restore it.
Agreed. Too unmolested to change.
Great project.
Gorgeous
