In the US, can you make something like this from scratch with the same basic qualifications as a motorcycle (blinkers, headlights, taillights) and if so, what are those qualifications? Are there any requirements for ground clearance, height or the width of the wheel base? Thanks.
Contact your local dmv about homemade vehicles. Each state has different laws. In NY you can get a packet from the DMV that has all the requirements in regards to equipment minimum seat height and the steps that have to be taken
very nice fit and finnish
Thanks Chris
Have front fenders now. It was never a legal or functional problem before, but I'm planning some out-of-state trips in the future where cops/laws weather may be less forgiving
Thanks for your interest and kind words.
Yes Sir, Very Nice build! and for those of us who can't do that…. Elio Motors dot com :{)
GREAT JOB, CONGARTS.
top speed ?
Honestly, I don't know. I'm probably just as curious as you are, but there is no place available in my area to find out without excessive risk. Even if I could overcome common sense and make a run for it, can you imagine the reaction of my insurance agent or local police if they
got wind of it… on you tube?!?!. I could give you an estimate, but talk is cheap. Anyway, thanks for your interest.
exelente!!!!
Yes, there is a conventional shifter just a couple of inches to the right of the right control stick. Back for first, forward for 2-6. Regretably there is no reverse. Hope to rig one some day if I can get around to it.
For Sale ?
Peculiar suggestion. Perhaps you intended an "s" on the end of " Look". I'll assume so. I'm sure your comment is as honest as it is cold.
Anyway, I'll agree it is a bit awkward from some angles. I think its the small front wheels. Can't do anything about that, but I'm thinking about lowering the profile about 4 " which should help with the proportions. Maybe use some fiberglass for compound curves in the nose, add full windshield and roof. Should help lower drag as well.
Right, regrettably no reverse.
Thanks Jorge.
Yeah, how deep are your pockets?
Thanks Fred.
Unfortunately it's not in my price range is imagine. I'd just like to see those on the road so eventually the get cheap enough to get in my range.
Good JOb !! can't beat a home design home built special ! ;0)
Ive got a few vids on here of my home built Buggy special, on/off road configurable 😉
I would like the plans on how you did the steering mechanics. That's so awesome…..
sweet
Nice job!!!!
I made something similar:

Those hand controls looked awkward. Were you actually releasing the steer control to accelerate? Most accelerators, when released, go to zero. That looked dangerous.
It is an awesome rtrike. How much money did you put into it?
I think that is really nice. Put a 'rag top' on it and it could be an all weather vehicle.
nice motor but would rather have a steering wheel
is that a kit or did you do it yourself would love 1 of these
outstanding. one of the best i've seen. any during construction videos or photos? front end from what atv?
hi i plan on building something very similar but i am having a very hard time figuring out what is legal and what is not. any info would be extremely helpful!
oh that looks like so much fun

Now that has to be the coolest looking reverse trike I've ever seen.
Too often they just look like a car, but this one looks like something completely new; straight out of an anime
