The colour of the pipes as they leave the head at 0:11… good to see the old girl still gets a workout.
Tell you what she still goes really well and sounds gorgeous when she's pulling hard up hills. Scary to think this was a sports bike in it's day. Cheeers, Anth.
Thank you very much… should be a new one tomorrow if all goes to plan. Cheeeers, 🙂 Anth.
Really nice bike.
I am rebuilding a 48 model. Can you tell me what type of Lucas headlamp is fitted.
Cheers
Hi, my bike came with the wrong light so this one is an 8" modern replica that I bought at an autojumble, I'm not sure who it was made by. Cheers, Anth 🙂
Good video.
Helluva lot easier to start than a Goldie, not sure if "Unapproachable" was meant to apply to an ES2, lovely bike all the same…
fantastic movie I love that Bike. makes me miss my 1946 B.S.A m 33..
@sailbeyondthesunset sounds like a farty piece of british faggot shit to me
"Oil bath". Somewhat apropos on many English bikes.
Gotta luv 'em though.
This almost makes me want a Norton, but the lazy mechanic insides says stay with an AirHead. Your bike has so much character, and it sounds like it's tuned to perfection. Damn it''s a wonderful sounding thumper, crisp and clean running. Usually that takes some carb and jetting talent to dial it in sharp. If I had lottery money I'd add it to my imaginary collection. Very sweet ride you have there.
been through a tunnel on the back of a Vincent Rapide following one of these and a couple of other Vincents
best sound ever.
Nice Norton. I suggest using EBAY for hunting and obtaining parts or a complete bike, and also purchase of a maintenance manual for your model year from EBAY sellers. It appears that Norton did not date all their publications, but instead refers to model numbers. This makes it difficult to determine which parts are correct fitting for the different years 47 -56 design changes. I found that many Norton parts are similar looking, but won't interchange.
Good Luck Von Deren
so unhurried and soft, not high revs and frantic!  the way that Motorcycling used to be!! lovely.
Lovely old bike, I had two from 1968 to 1972, you could pick them up for £5.00, nobody wanted them, "they do now".
i want one
Beautiful crisp sounding thumper. Love that sound! A proper motorcycle.
Just as it should be the only music necessary being that emanating from the exhaust.
