The airhead Part Two | Riding a Classic BMW R65 Motorcycle | Ian Fleming’s grave. James Bond
This video features an old motorcycle dating from 1980 I aquired this bike from a good friend and acquaintance Tony Hawkins.
Tony and his brother have owned this bike for the last 17 years and completely stripped and rebuilt her. There is not a spot of rust anywhere, so it now falls upon me to make sure the bike stays bright and pristine for many years to come.

Hi Wiltshire Man. Just discovered your site. Excellent video, also went on to the micro gliding, Fab! great to have some back ground history too. Yours Ian
Wow you could go around the world on that bike
Love the bike sandy👍👍👍👍
Tidy 😛
Cracking film Sandy really good quality film, as you using the go pro ?
Thanks for the tour of your countryside Sandy. That was fun and I enjoyed the old Norman barn and as a Bond fan that was a treat to see Ian’s gravesite as well. And I like your old Beemer too. It looks like a blast!
Nice trip! Thanks for taking us. I always like going to old type cemeteries, I am not joking. Always birds and flowers. The best ones have benches here and there. Same for old sheds and even partially back to dust and dirt abandoned ancient homes. (🛵 <- my type of slow puttering along motoring bike) 👵🏻
Enjoyable trip around your local roads in the sun. That R65 sounds in fine nick ! Like you, I had a Transalp for years and rode 40,000m on it – I do miss it. I have a Moto Guzzi V7 classic currently, which is a 'retro' based on the '70s V7, and it's a hoot to ride, about the same power as your Beemer.
Cracking old Bike Sandy. Get a tent and sleeping bag strapped to the back and go touring. I’m a BMW rider myself. Got the F800GS. Last year we went from Scotland down as far as Switzerland doing all the mountain passes and eventually did 6 countries. I’m now awaiting delivery of. Yamaha Tracer, but I’m keeping the BMW for commuting. Check out my channel. 😀 Keep the videos coming. 👌
Excellent Sandy, a classic BMW. Enjoy your self.
I never took you as a biker. lol. Nice one, the bike sounds good. The biggest bike I've got is the 1990 Suzuki GSX600F.
Hi sandy great bike I like it that mate
It’s a beautiful old bike. I always wanted a Triumph, an English bike.
Hi Sandy What a beautiful machine , love it. Nice to hear a 4stroke. Love the video, great commentary.
Thanks Sandy for another great video you are fast becoming my favourite u tuber! wild camping bushcraft and now motorbikes…. right up my street keep up the good work!
A great informative video Sandy, that's a lovely classic bike never sell it ! I did not know that Ian Fleming is buried in Seven Hampton Village.
nice old girl that mate thanks for the ride out
Nice bike. Take care on it Sandy.
Nice bike. I also had a GS. It rode well. I rode it all the way to the bike shop and traded it in for a harley!
Nice bike.Looking forward to the future videos.Ride safe.
She's a beauty Sandy, nice smooth running bike. We are the same age, I never went for bikes, but a lot of my mates did; they went a lot faster than 45mph on their Fizzies, ha, ha. Your roads look a lot better than the ones round my way. You'll be more aerodynamic when you get your leathers too. Thanks for sharing, atb.
That's an awsome bike, really nice countryside too. Beemers are a favourite of mine. Heres a one lung bmw I photgraphed once. https://www.flickr.com/photos/vankufer/429010194/
Congrats on the bike Sandy. A classic BMW like that will run forever if looked after, the engines are low revving and totally unstressed. I never owned an airhead myself, but have had two Beemas, a K100RS, and the trusty and well traveled R1150GS. Ride safe my friend.
I really enjoyed your narrated tour on your new BMW. That's a lovely way to watch your travels and to enjoy the sights of England. I love puttering around on the backroads of the USA as you never know what you will see. The visit to the grave of Ian Fleming is a case in point. I recalled the joy I got from reading several of his books. Somehow, viewing it made his life seem that much more real. Please continue these narrated rides!
This was so good! Are you going to get a side car? lol!
I used to have a motorcycle made in your country. A Norton 850 Commando. That bike had loads of torque. I miss that bike. You have yourself a beautiful bike there. Your friend did a fabulous restoration on it. Get some Panniers and do a moto camping trip. Great video. I also had a 1974 Honda CB 750 four. Liked it a lot also.
Great video Sandy, my first bike was a Yamaha Rd125LC, I'm looking for an old Suzuki 1200 Bandit oil burner for a street fighter project. Stay safe mate atb.
