fucking awesome
It can't be beefy and be from India. Indians don't eat beef. Lol. I'm kidding. Rode an enfield once loved it. 10/10 will buy soon
This looks great. I love the blackened pieces. I think a dark brown leather seat, with brown leather saddle bags and a brown leather tool bag would look better and more retro than the nylon ones though. RE also makes triangular cases that are shaped like the one below the seat that would look great mounted on the front tire. There is a company that sells reproduction WWII brown gauntlets that would be perfect for completing the dispatch rider feel of this terrific bike. Great job!
the engine style should be left as was,
sorry but they were made in india from 1954 ! but they did supply the army in the 40s that is correct .
Its is a king of road in india
where are you guys based?
Australia? can you send me a website link or ur email address
Hey Jim! What is the name of the company who did the exhaust you put to that royal enfield? I couldnt quite get the name of it… Thanks!
Nice but the indian factory was from 1954 not mid-40s. And there are three plugs to drain the oil. I ride a C5 🙂
Hey what's up guys. Forgot all about these videos I did back when I was in the bike business. Yes, I am chubby, yes I hear that I resemble Zach G., and yes I have always been a salesman. A good salesman can sell anything and make you believe everything he says. I have been a die hard Harley guy my whole life, but I had an opportunity to be the GM for Royal Enfield of Fort Worth. A shade tree motorcycle shop in Fort Worth run by a goofy little metrosexual guy named Michael Baker. He only deals in used bikes but somehow was sold on these Royal Enfield bikes and started carrying them. He loves to brag and boast about shit. Like being the largest Royal Enfield dealer in the US. Pretty easy to do when there are only a hand full of dealers to begin with. I am going to be very honest in my assessment of these bikes, so look away if you really want one and or I had you sold on them. These bikes are crap. Plain and simple. They are very cheaply made, they use some of the cheapest materials which probably seem like gold in India and they are a mechanical / performance nightmare. Michael was being sucked off by some group that was importing them to the US and held the distribution rights to them in the US. They loved promoting Michael and Michael loved having his ego stroked. These bikes are perfect for the weekend warrior needing to run over to a local wine tasting, scoot over to the mall for more hair care products, and to fetch a backed of chocolate dipped strawberries for you and your buddies to enjoy on the back roads of your gated community. These that are being made now, and filmed in this video are not the old school, durable, reliable machines they once were. Today they are not made for the guy who wants to own this as his sole mode of transportation. The fuel injection system is a hot mess, the sprag clutch is janky, and when you ride a bike made out of cheap metal you can expect things to rust and shit to fall off. That's why I never bought one when I was selling them. Yes I rode around on one on occasion, and took a brutal ride through central texas one weekend. They get okay fuel mileage, they have no power, and how these people buy them with sidecars and put two cornbread feds people in there is beyond me. They are a novelty bike at best. Yes Jay Leno has one, yes Royal Enfield of Fort Worth powder coats a lot of crap on theirs and custom paints some stuff to make them pop, but you can do this with any bike out there with a little imagination. For the money I think they are a rip off. I would much rather buy a Triumph any day of the week for the approximate same money. At least you can keep up with traffic without having the engine redlined. They look cool and that's about it. Most people bought them for their looks even thought that have a great ad campaign talking about their rich history. But that rich history is long since died and has nothing to do with the stuff being sold here in the US today. If you want a bike that you can ride every day, keep up with traffic, something not dying for more power, something that can easily be customized, and something that has a great mechanical reputation then I would suggest you buy a Triumph. And no, I am not working for Triumph. I long left the motorcycle industry for one reason and one reason alone. There is only one guy making money at any motorcycle dealership, and that is the owner. Everyone else is starving! I didn't need the money at the time and that's why I got into the industry as a GM at 2 different dealerships. I got into it because I had a brand for myself, a knew how to sell, and I could shoot good videos. Oh' and I loved riding. The rest is all old news. That café thing they were putting out, the Continental GT or whatever it was. Yeah, it's a joke too. They only pre-sold a hand full of them, and everyone is sitting on plenty of inventory and has been since they arrived in the US. I was at the International Bike Show in Dallas when they unveiled that janky thing. I think we might have taken 1 deposit the whole weekend. You can reread this reply if you didn't soak it all in, but you are not buying something to be ridden daily. These are an expensive novelty bike for the fat wallet that wants something to ride around his gated community on spring and fall evenings, and to claim that he owns a Royal Enfield made in India. And for that application, this is a winner. Everything else was me doing what I do very well…..selling. ~Jim Vititow / previously the General Manager for Royal Enfield of Fort Worth.

Great vid.
I am so proud Zack Galifianakis loves Royal Enfield. Fan-boy moment for me.
my only gripe with royal enfields is that they are missing a cylinder
Good job folks
Nice video , love RE 😉
Royal Enfield is an Indian company now, bought by an Indian company in the 1960s.
Enfields are ok if you are into low powered old classic looking bikes but don't do a group ride with riders with modern bikes you will find it hard to keep up (even a 300c metric bike will kick your arse). If you are going to group ride with an Enfield join a group of bobber riders or classic riders. Word is Enfield has got the message and it bringing out a bigger V twin soon so riders can finally keep up.
I had a chance to ride one of these last year at a biker meet in Dallas. It felt very different from my Evo sportster but similar to my friend's old iron head sportster. It fun and really cool. I'm glad they are still making these.
thats great
silencer name
You guys have a website with pics of other RE you've done?

PLEASE ask the man standing at the side to stop BELLY-DANCING…
Guys I want to get this bike in Pakistan but there is no dealer in the country. Please suggest how can I get one or from where can I import?
Best Bike for road or even no road, Famous in India Rank 1st in their category
Think a British company should buy it back. They sell rather a lot of these bikes out of india and more than enough that should see them be able to develop something new other than the cheesy Thunderbird they did. Especially as the company is owned by Eicher. Have no idea why they even bothered with fuel injection because it just adds insult to injury if they are not willing to develop the Bullet. . Nostalga is being used as an excuse not to compete and inovate I think.
iam going to buy this month.
MADE IN INDIA brothers!!!
ermmm wheres the side cart with sub machine gun ?
Two plugs drain the oil, not one.
this bike has a legacy but it's heartwarming to see white guy praising Indian bike .#respect to manufacturer of Royal enfield
Hi Jim/Team,
You guys have made lovely video.
I'm planning to buy RE Squadron Blue classic 500cc this week. I don't want to put any sticker on the tank, but i want to save the tank from scratches.
I liked the Tank Rack you have used/shown in this video.
Please can share the link how to order that.
Love from India…
Regards,
Dibyendu
Is O2 sensor on your pipe gone ?
before buying an Enfield keep in mind they are not for everybody. Know before what it demands.
