In 1950, the fastest bike through the Highlander speed trap in practice was W B Lomas at 103 mph, above all the ZB Goldies. Plus they had swing-arm rear suspension on road machines before anybody else.
Very sorry, the Clubmans TT I meant to say.
In 1935, they fielded a 4-valve sloper single ridden by Cecil Barrow. He was the last man to use a lever throttle control (throttle trigger, a much developed version) in the TT. He was entered as a privateer and DNF.
Wilf Green, a reet Yorkshireman He wasn't all mouth, he'd done it all A great man.
The (comparatvely ) modern genius of racing Royal Enfields was without a shadow of a doubt Stephen Linsdell. By the Christ did he know how to make those things go. Wiping the floor with Triumph twins on two-thirds of the revs. Plus he knew how fast Bullets could really go, given half a chance.
Bullet meri jaan…
Best bike I ever had, 1951 G2 350 trials Bullet. I had a common sense meltdown and traded her in for a 250 two stroke
"thing" made in Wales I think. Absolute litter. Where ever you are NTT * please forgive me.
We used to call them Royal Oilfield, due to the oil leaks. A friend bought a Continental GT, which I borrowed to pass my test on, it leaked oil from new!
0:50 THAT IS A GORGEOUS GIRL.ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS.
Was that a young Richard Briers narrating the Triumph Herald advert?
The newer enfields dont have much of the oil leak problem and also with the UCE Engine riding comfort is much better that earlier models…Also now with the LS411cc engine on the RE Himalayan it can climb higher RPMs..
Born & Orphaned in England
adopted & raised in India
Has severe growth & learning deficiency
yet appreciated & loved by step-mother India
and now has pity of the whole world…And (*sigh) that's story of Royal Enfield
Can't fault Yorkshire Men for straight talking.
I had a T100, T110, BSA Road Rocket, Super Meteor, Connie, Royal Enfield "The Twin", a nice little 500 vertical twin and it was lovely to ride. It was quite old. A Woolich Commando Fastback. then a H1, and an H2 with Denco`s and Pipes Fcuking Shit !!!!. T500 Suzy. GS1000 Suzy, Suzy RG 500 Gamma !!. GT380 and a few more. My old friend has still got his T110 in the shed!!. My wife bought a Golden Flash but never rode it. Replaced a big end bearing in a 350 Enfield Bullet for a friend. Peculiar Slipper white metalled bush that went on the crank pin as I remember and could rotate in use. Halcyon Days !!.
16:19–16:54 The greatest commercial ever! I love British commercials!
My dad got me hitched to this bike….I have a 1983 bullet and a 2012…I love riding the old man's (Dad's)ride…when you're in love with the bike you just can't let it go…no matter how much trouble it gives…Thank you Britain for building such a fantastic bike and thanks to my country to keeping this legacy alive…I have my eyes on a 1973 RE…something my wife doesn't know and I wanna keep it that way….Always have n always will rode a RE…until the day I can't ride

Whats happened to Royal Enfield in Canada?
I tried to buy one here but the 2006 were unavailable.I got this from the main importer
"Thank you for the opportunity to give you a quote. I wish I could help you however we did not receive our Royal Enfield shipment this year.
They are getting bigger and are currently in a transitioning period. I currently have a extensive list of people awaiting there return.
Would you like to join the list? "
If they want my business they need to be available for purchase.
I wanted a Cozy sidecar being 64 but I can't get the bike to put it onto. That is so frustrating
India traffic ; chaos.
Huh , at 8:00 that's nothing. I used to get home riding an actual block of ice, had to be chipped out by my Dad, before being melted down with a blow torch and carried inside on the top of a 3 bar electric heater to be thawed out  ……….. 🙂
Priceless! Thank you for half an hour of pure joy
