Really appreciate all of these ride throughs and I appreciate the dealer allowing for it. Cheers
If you happen to get a chance, will you please do a review on the 2016 Switchback? I currently have a 1200T and that is a potential upgrade for me. 🙂
Another good review, it seems the bike became a little shaky when you got up to 70 mph. like you had to work a little harder to maintain the bike. Enjoyed the review.Ride safe
After personally riding both the King and the Springfield, I can't see how anyone would choose the Road King…
Good review man. I'm still riding my old carbureted 2002 Wide glide and have a NEW bike on my mind. I've always wanted to road king but to be honest Harley's feel small to me. I'm 6"2 and feel cramped on them accept for my WG which is why I keep it. Compared to other brands it seems Harley's are more compact. I've yet to try a Indian but I can tell by looking they are a stretched out larger bike. After owing a Harley for 13 years I may be switching 2 Indian
Forgot to say the Harley vibrates because touring models do not have a internal counterbalanced engine like the Indian and Harley Softail models. They use the engine that is on dynas and are not balanced but are mounted on rubber motor mounts. The Indian has weights on the crank that balances out the vibration. The only downside is at high speed and higher rpm the counterbalance engine will start buzzing the handlebars whereas the rubber mounted engine stays smooth. That's probably a reason Harley sticks with the rubber mounted engines in the touring models like the RK
You're missing the "road King" ornament by the triple tree. Did you even notice?
Like both the HD Road King and Polaris Springfield.Pricing wise, one can get a Road King for under 20K with all the bells and whistles depending on the dealership you go to. I haven't heard of any Indian Dealership offering the Springfield for under 20K. When it comes to choosing one, I would probably go with the Harley considering the price, seating comfort (seat felt more ergonomic on the Harley than the Indian) and brand recognition.
Dial in the rear air shocks and the ride improves dramatically.
I would like to hear your thoughts on a yamaha Stratoliner if you've ridden one. Seems to be the comparison bike to the Road king.
I Bought the 2017 ROAD KING … Thanks Boys for all the insight & Info
