  • It is a bit hard to compare because wankel engine is much different then 4 stroke otto motor, but if we look how much gas and oil mix can fit in rx8 wankel engine then the answer is 1.3L you cant add those other 2 chambers because they dont suck gas,so in fact it is 1.3l not 3.9l. but this doesn't mean everyone should start building wankel engines,we have 2 stroke engine they can achieve 300 bhp/L but they have alot of problems, just like wankel :fuel, oil consumption, engine reliability…

  • Oh dear you really dont understand anything about engines do you!

The two stroke 'cycle' is…2 strokes or one revolution…..

A four stroke 4 cyl engine only fires twice in one revolution and therefore only burns half its rated capacity of fuel and air….but of course you knew that right??

A FOUR stroke engine has to make four strokes of the piston up and down to complete a full cycle…thats two revolutions…but of course you knew that RIGHT?? that hole your in is getting bigger, lol

  • Oops, I made a mistake, my 530cc would fire four times. My bad. My point is still valid.

  • Your point is total bollox as usual, why not consider the swept volume over 4 or 8 revolutions, just as pointless after passing one cycle is simply repetition.

  • Meh. I actually don't think I can explain it to you, go read some books or something.

  • What you mean is you have just realised you havent go a clue what your talking about.

  • There are plenty of animations on you tube which show you that all three chambers fill with fuel & air and are ignited in ONE revolution of the rotor. There is NO doubt that its a 3.9L engine it is simple geometery.

  • No, what I mean, is I can't explain it to you. Everyone else I've explained it to seemed to understand.

  • Presumably they were all dumber than you so didnt question the bollox you come out with.

  • You are just another dumb kid who knows nothing about engines or in fact anything else. You are clearly too dumb to understand why you dont see 20k street engines!!!!
If you think engineers love them so much, where are all the new rotary engine vehicles…clown.

  • More nonsensical dribble from an idiot……

  • thermodynamic efficiency while rotary engine only got +-20% of efficiency.this make them not as efficient as a comparable piston engine in term of making a power.but the rotary abilty to fill the chamber is the main key to gain back their lose.they can simply adding more fuel to the chambers without afraid of engine stalling as i said they are superior in displacing air.THIS IS the main factor why rotary engine are worst in term of fuel economy.

  • and there is another factors that's make them worst is their lubricating system.on the other side they are almost like 4 stroke but on the other side they are more likely like 2-stroke.they need to lubricate the working chamber by injecting or premixing the lube in the chamber where the combustion take place.and also other factors is how to seal this thing efficiently.

  • they got a problem with a temperature different in their working chamber makes them harder to be cooled. THIS IS why the are not commercially successful because the 'price' to develop them are so 'high'.Only mazda's are one who dare to take a risk and pay a time to develop them and the result we can see is a 16x. a high compression, high thermodynamic ,high fuel economy rotary engine. They said they still developing this engine and 2 out of 3 work had successfully done!

  • ROTARY: compact, lightweight, naturally high revving and less moving parts make them all the way superior than any comparable piston engine in term of making power out of small size.

  • haha retard!..lack of knowledge make u look more dumbers!lol i guess u know nothing about thermodynamic. lol maybe u just googling and search 'what is fucking stupid about rotary' then comes with a stupid statement.

  • Rather than posting gibberish crap why dont you give us the full benefit of your extensive thermodynamic knowledge regarding rotary engines ……it should be most entertaining……

  • Where have you gone retard come back and entertain us with your stupidity…

  • But still nothing useful to say….

  • yeah! nothing to say to someone who know nothing and act like they know everything….

  • Yep, we do know who is the dumb kid and whose the clown. Caps is not a substitute for yelling and actually lowers the reader's opinion of those whom "yell" in texts. there is plenty of dumb for everyone..just stop sharing till your dumb is gone

  • So basically nothing worthwhile to say, as usual.

  • You need to ask an adult to adjust your medication, your paranoid schizophrenia is showing through.

  • Actually I only have one account but its clear to all who the rambling schizo is, now get back to the funny farm where you belong.

  • Remember them well, untouchable down the straight, not enough torque through the bends.  All in all the japs built better all rounders.

  • This manoo62 is a fucking retard…hahahahaha I just cant believe someone with so little knowledge of a rotary engine 'non reciprocating' can be so critical of something that for its size it quite genius in creating a lot of power…..now we all know cubes 9/10 times will always win as torque is what drag racers chase…..what this narrow minded fuck doesn't realise is when you add a power additive like a turbo or supercharger to a rotary is bulk torque and increased power without the added stress of reciprocation which makes it a more efficient and superior engine….there is only 3 main moving parts in a rotary compared to a shit load in a piston 'reciprocating' engine. People always fear what they don't understand….Rant over
P.s this fucktard is sort of correct in displacement as in racing especially is Australia a 13b is considered a 2.6L and if F.I is used it doubles again….so basically they'd be racing against 5.0l's and 20b is classed as 6.0l hahahaha bloody ridiculous but I guess they have to keep each class fair as a rotray would dominate any class under 2.0l….

  • Didn't honda put them down though, i dont mean by racing but a technicality in the racing rules of them being a higher displacement when all the chambers where counted
