Norton Rotary Motorcycle Factory Shenston Staffordshire 1992
This is a video of the Norton Rotary Factory at Shenstone Staffordshire. Taken on 1st August 1992 when I collected my brand new Norton Commander Krauser from the factory. This bike was a cancelled order from the Portuguese Police (so I managed to get it for a price that I could afford). There are some amazing shots from inside the production line as well as glimpses of ideas that the company were developing If only they’d had more money….
Various Air Cooled rotaries, Commanders and F1s are visible.Mr Richard Negus showed my wife and I around together with the children and was kind enough to let us take video as we went round. Co-incidently in 1981 my wife and I visited the Triumph motorcycle works at Meriden and were shown round by a security guard one Sunday morning when no one else was there but sadly we didn’t have a video camera with us on that occasion!
