As always, nice job on the MotoVlog! Classic Motorworks is still and will remain, the parts and after market supplier in the US. Their inventory has never been the most extensive and they are definitely not the fastest. That's why we have been ordering with Hitchcocks, or even from India for years and never had any issues with either of them. After ScootOver's current RE inventory is sold they will not sell new REs, or doing warranty work anymore, but if they can get the parts, they will gladly repair any RE that is brought to them! Glad, you got Curry back on the road. RIDE SAFE!
I feel really bad for you, such a tough life you have. I would have folded by now with those choices you were forced to make in your spotless garage! LOL!!
Drum brake on the front? Is it possible to upgrade it to disk brake that the modern bullets use? Or would you even want to do it?
EDIT: Watched to the end now and I see that you DO want the conversion. Yes, I would too if I were you. It's important to be able to react to changes in traffic. Thankfully the CB550 has excellent drum brake in the rear and the front disk is adequate but I am thinking to upgrade to a steel braided line.
Too bad about Royal Enfield. That's what a Harley Guy will get you. They did the same thing to their dealers back in the 80's.
Too bad about the Enfield dealers in USA. It would be nice to have a local source of parts for older models. I have ordered some parts directly from India on eBay. Looking forward to seeing the brake conversion.
lol Walks into the Garage "Which Bike To Ride …Hmmmm "Most Men's dreams hahaha!" You're living it that's for sure man! I hope to be there at some point! But Kinda hard when My work is Cutting my Hours to 2 Days a flipping Week.
Also is your House Custom? I see that your Garage opens to the Back Yard I really like that!
I have always refured to Dealer ships as Stealer Shits lol
Ooooo, choices choices choices.
It's a shame you have to spoil the original look of the Enfield mate. But if making the change will help you stay safe then it's a no brainer.
I'm shocked! running a red light!? Shame on you! And in such heavy traffic too! Hahahaha
I loved the intro on this one! Had me giggling away! What a stable you now have sir! When is the Thruxton or T120 making an appearance I wonder?! 😉
Hi i live in England and thinking of getting one of these because there so cheap. but not seen one in real life and wanted to know how big they are. I am 6ft and some bikes are small and makes us look to big for them.
The front brake conversion kit is the right decision. It only has to save you once and you have kept both your bike and yourself pretty ;>)
Haha! Too many choices. 🙂
I know what you mean about the looks but, in today's traffic , the disc is safer… Take care and keep the camera rolling..
This is why I can only have one bike… While you were finishing the vlog I would still be in the garage running numbers on optimized enjoyment for the day haha
So great to be able to get unusual items via the Internet in such short order these days. It is truly a golden age in that respect.
I guess that is why my Local dealer is nor selling the Royal Enfield any more . This was a real motorcycle shop to.
Your bikes all look so shiny & in top-notch condition! That garage is spic & span!
Steps into a tidy garage…can't decide on which beauty to ride on a beautiful hot summer's day….Man, now you're just rubbing it in aren't you? 😀
Absolutely! go with the front disc conversion, we're all used to seeing discs on classics now anyway.
Go for the discs I say. looks are nice, but personal safety is a 'little' but more important! I have an unhealthy amount of lust stored up for your garage. That's my dream right there!
Hello. I followed Cpt. Rambunctious here from twitter. Thanks for putting this up. I learned some things.
You made it look like the Royal Enfield was just calling out to you. Pick me, pick me. 🙂 I can see why keeping a bike 'pure' would be appealing, but if that means ending up having it as a display only then I guess the conversion is the option if for no other reason than safety in urban stop and go situations. RSMF Cheers
Hi I live in Colombia and I have a green battle classic 500 2015 and I like your channel #REFamily
Nothing worse than needing a simple part for a simple fix and your supply chain leaves you benched. If it wasn't for the aftermarket, I'd be hunting for a new bike. I'm getting used to hearing "Sorry, that part is obsolete.". On another note, the Alamo Apartments at 5:42 from Harley Davidson And The Marlboro Man.
If Hitchcocks get any quicker they'll have stuff delivered before I order it. Those 'soft' TLS brakes are great /if/ they're set up just-so. Likewise the rear pivot is supposed to slide so both shoes operate, not be painted in place. RE drum brakes were used on so, so many other makes of british bikes including Brough. Those two shoes must touch down simultaneously and there's a real black art to getting them set, but once set right they should be as good as a disc.
hii bro m from india …….. and i got couple of re's i wanna talk about the exhaust…. i actually had a pic of your bike i got it from google….. n m glad i found your channel …… tell me from where you wot that exhaust ???? i want that……. and the turn indicators too…… and one more thing i want some tips from you … how can i keep my bullet scratch free ? and in a brand new condition just like yours……. waiting for your reply… ":) you rock
Man, Tuscon has changed quite a bit! Ha ha. Darn vehicle detectors. They'd leave you waiting forever at that red light.
gud to c a royal enfield mate.
wel m too an enfieldian
u can check ma stuff out!
cheers
I had a larger deluxe drum brakes (Extra big ones) and they were awesome. They do have stopping power just like Disc Brakes. But for the sake of not changing the brake shoes often and having to maintain them, I've gone for Discs now. I used the same Disc Brakes Kit!
One thing though is that you will have to change the Front fork assembly as well to accommodate the Brake Calipers!
Hi I have a 1999.Royal Enfield deluxe. What do you use to polish chrome and aluminium?
Thanks
