You are right, HD started using Japanese forks in the 70's and used Jap carbs from the 70's right until they stopped using carbs! I think anybody that puts down another person's choice of brand/model of bike needs to worry about themselves. You ride what you like and I will ride what I like…..if somebody doesn't like it too freaking bad. To note, you can find a 1972 Keihin Carb that has Harley Davidson stamped on it and under that it says Japan.
Me personally I can't stand honda even though I'm riding 07'a road star midnight Silverado with 14' apes but we all ride what we like. But I still luv them Harley fatboys I hope they will put the Milwaukee 8 in them to
Beautiful area Bro! Where do you live?
I ride a 2014 limited 46,000.00 miles and love it.It's almost ready for it's first front tire.
Did you gut the cat? It causes so mush heat.
Try not to let the hater and troll's get you upset
haters can bite me i am loving my 2017 road glide special , no stall problems either just plain ol loving it :0)
I got a new Mil8..had it 6 months now…NEVER stalled on me
I may be wrong, but I am I willing to bet that Honda does not out sell Harley with cars and bikes combined in a year. Honda wishes they had 1 day worth of Harley sales. And after Trump fixes the trade deals, Harley will be the most dominate bike in the world. Besides that, why are you arguing with a punk. I am willing to bet that dude never rode a bike, let alone own one. Just laugh.
Geezes what a bunch of babies you all are. A bike is a bike is a bike no matter who makes it. Love my Honda and love my soon to purchase Harley.
just a liberal cry baby . good delete the cry babies
I rented one this weekend. making a U-turn. yes you have to give it more throttle you were totally absolutely right. Scared the shit out of me.i recovered thank god.lol. I'm so used to sound on the throttle without looking at the gauges.i also believe it's the low idle. yes the pipe that I had on the bike was standard Harley Davidson pipe. it is seriously a powerful motorcycle. in 3rd gear I was doing 70 miles an hour. I shifted it just to be nice. very nice review sir.thank you for being you.right on.
does it sound like a Harley? If not i am not getting one ! I have seen lots of videos on m8 with slip ons and they dont sound like a Harley 🙁
Could it be you stalled because of the clutch adjustment not because of your riding?
I heard M8 engine with a slipons and they sound like Kawasaki Vulcan lol not trolling you but it sounds crap !
Are you talking about
SnowcatSnowflake trolling you? Have you seen his face reveal? That guy is the king of snowflakes he doesn't have a single muscle on his entire body – enough said lol !95% of a US vehicle is metric & has been since the 90's. Carbs on some bikes do indeed still exist for mainly financial reasons, but the flagship machines have both ride by wire & EFI. I am 1 of those "crotch rocket owners" Been riding for over 23 yrs. HDs are not my thing for several reasons but I respect owners for wanting/owning one. I ribb them as they do me. but know for sure no matter what you ride, if you are at the side of the road I will stop for you.
Lower idle speed – just give it a little twist. Some of the older shovels and even evos had their idle set much lower by owners.
everyone thinks they no more than then other guy or there opinion is better than yours. I say ride that's all that's matter even if it's a bicycle.
my 84 electra glide had showa front forks and they were much better than the Hydra or Duo glides forks.I am very impressed with 2017 Electra glide rear shocks I hated the air shocks on my 07 road king.also i think it was a mistake putting lowered rear suspension on street and road glide.
Hey Sir, I'm looking at supplementing my motorcycle collection with a Breakout CVO….Have you or any of your viewers had any issues with overheating? New Orleans gets super hot during the summer.
my 2008 had throttle by wire and injection , ultra anv. model. just to correct ya . good video
Really thats your gripe???
Stall caused by juice clutch… it's a learning curve. Deal with it.
Honda has overhead valves, Harley-Davidson still uses pushrods and rockers to feed their oil systems with lower case cam (as the new Harleys have a single cam).
There are some metric bolts on the bike of course (nothing to be concerned about) still lots of SAE bolts. Harley still gets huge accolades for their hand controls and switch housings over ALL other motorcycle factory brands! Most of the Japanese bikes still have the thumbed signal switch on one side and it still looks cheap and half thought out.
Harley Davidson sets the standard on all their fit and finish, which gives them a leg up on ALL their competition. I'm not just tooting their horn, it's out there… the ONLY thing some of these other companies do is show that they can stuff a 6 cylinder motor into a frame!?!?! Big Whoop! It has zero sound and zero torque by comparison to any Harley-Davidson engine design.
I personally am glad they went away from the twin cam, I owned 3 of them and only like one because it was in a Dyna frame and had it upgraded from a 96" to a 103" in 2007! Blew me away! As well as blowing a pair of Victory 107's in the weeds and also a Suzuki 109" Boulevard model.
Guy his Boulevard dynoed at 289?!?! No such animal after doing some research.
Anyway, ride what makes you happy but know the damn facts is what I'd say to some of these people bro!
Keep posting!
Haha love the way you replied to that guy! Cool video man, hope to see if you do any modifications to it
It's not the bike it's the mentality of the owners that affect people's attitudes. Been riding for a bit over forty years and any non Harley owner can expect numerous typical Harley playbook comments that seem to be like a bible to many owners. I suspect it is the H.O.G. members and meetings that instigate this so it never goes away.
This causes many riders on other brands to get an attitude also.
Had a friend that quit his H.O.G. group because the President of the group instructed people that unless someone was on a HD you were not to wave at them on the road. How people could tell that anyway in advance shows the ignorance of the H.O.G. President.
I like any bike and don't judge people either way but that is not true about many HD owners. That's just the facts.
I though the stall thing was something I had been doing. I think it may be the motor going to single cylinder if your at idle speed. Its almost allways on a right turn.
I think it's funny all these Harley haters that talk shit online they're a bunch of keyboard Warriors. I've never had one person talk shit to me about my Harley to my face. It's the same old shit they say over and over again Harleys are pieces of shit they break down all the time and only old people ride them. I've never had major issues with my Harleys little bullshit here and there that I pretty much fix myself unless it was under warranty. Harley-Davidson is more reliable now than ever and they will always be the big dog in the motorcycle industry. Talking shit did Victory a lot of good as we all saw over the years and now those dumbasses are out of business I called that shit a year ago before they announced it. Indian will be next they will go out of business in a couple of years also Polaris doesn't give a fuck about them and they will cut and run. Just get out there and ride and enjoy life it doesn't matter what you got as long as you're having a kick-ass time. Most of these trolls have never even ridden a motorcycle but they like to talk all this shit that's what's really funny if you think about it little bitches living in her mother's basement.
beautiful neighborhood bro
"Butt hurt. Troll. Die in a fire. Talkin smack. Delete you."
You kinda come across as a14 year old girl. I'm sure your troll was a meanie, but seriously, you're a grown man riding a $30,000 Harley.
Alot of american companies are still using english units, including mine. There is a fear over lack of respect for intellectual property and cloning. We even go as far as only selling certain other countries 1 generation below our current products.
I've been riding Harleys for nearly 50yrs now but have also owned nearly every make through the years.
What it all comes down to is individual preference and use .
My preference for Harley has nothing to do with image or any other such shallow reasons, but that i am a machinist/mechanic by trade and have always had a love for all things mechanical.
I've owned everything from panheads to a twincam, and have repaired and built numerous bikes of various types. In my opinion Harley has built the most beautiful machines in existence, and its being able to actually feel and hear all of that machinery working that attracts me. Nothing sounds like an old panhead with the valve assembly properly clattering and whirring, the deep, rich, signature exhaust note at idle, on up to cruising rpm, and the rattle and whine of the clutch assembly when changing gears or disengaged when coming to a stop. And lets not forget the loud "clunk" when shifting gears.
Even the sweet smell of a hot Harley engine is distinct from any other. It's a combination of all of these things that give Harley it's unique character and the feeling that it is endowed with a soul.
You don't just ride an old Harley; you must actually operate it, and it requires your full attention. It is an exercise involving actual physical and mental participation of the rider, which to some, is quite an exhilarating experience, definitely not for everyone. It can almost be equated to flying a crop duster aircraft, and understandably not for the faint of heart. People seek to gratify their need for that feeling of being truly alive in many different ways and using different means, and it just so happens that we do it with motorcycles. I respect all who ride regardless of what they ride. Its how they ride that matters. It's pure foolishness to have all of this animosity toward one another for such petty reasons, and its time to put all of the bullshit aside.
The biking world more than any other was always about freedom and the freedom to be an individual. As an old Harley rider from way back, it pains me to see that this modern mindset has intruded even upon our world.
For me, it has never been about what a person rode, but how they rode, as in mindset, attitude, etc…
What it boils down to is personal preference and intended use of the machine, and it should be respected and left at that.
It's my observation that Harley has made leaps and bounds in every area, however, the machine is still essentially a Harley Davidson motorcycle and will never be anything more or less.
Only a certain type of individual is attracted to the machine, and that is how it should be. If its not for you, there is no need to get ugly and malicious toward the machine and those who choose to ride them. Just respect that choice and move on to something more to your liking. In any case, don't worry about what the next guy says. He's totally irrelevant and can't affect you unless you give him the power to.
Even though i have loved Harleys for most of my life, i have absolutely no love for the motor company itself, have never purchased a new bike, and have always done my best to limit my contact with them. Even in light of this, i have never smeared them and never will. They are what they are, but they won't ever ruin my experience with their machines.
With regards to the machine itself, they have advanced so far that they have taken away everything that attracted me to the machines in the first place. In my view, they have advanced to the point where a Harley is just another soulless, stamped out, mass produced piece of machinery, and a reflection of the times we live in.
I' m not saying this to condemn anyone or anything, but i really do feel for the younger generation of riders, as you are really being cheated.
Everything today is just a cheap imitation of what it used to be, and people seem to just go through the motions because the way of being real has been lost. It has been stolen from you. I guess that goes along with "progress". Ride safe, and always treat one another with respect.
harley rider from ireland love my harley
I passed the Showa manufacturing plant near Middletown Ohio. I used to work at a GPS and laser leveling plant in Huber Heights Ohio. There we made both Spectra Physics made in the USA and Nikon made in Japan GPS Laser Levelers. They were just painted a different color, Green for Japan and Yellow for the USA models. And yes the green ones are sent out label "Made in Japan". I believe the Showa forks are made in the USA. Just something for the hate filled HD hating crybabies to chew on
Harley's claim to fame is being "first" in market share and brand loyalty 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
It's the rider, not the bike.
I think it stinks if you need to touch the throttle at all during low speed turns.
Take a knee. Honest review, not another freaking homer
