MCN’s classic bike ride from Lands End to John O’Groats
MCN’s Michael Guy is preparing to ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats onboard a 1960 Ariel Arrow and will be joined by his father, Don riding a 1960 Ariel Leader.
Both machines are 250cc 2-strokes developing around 16bhp and a lot less torque! Guy will be camping on route and is trying to raise £1000 for the charity the NSPCC.

Lucky Guy!
People cycle it in 5 days, what route are you taking?
Have a nice trip Michael! you are my favourite presenter/reviewer!
I would like to test ride those. Would be neat to see how they compare to more modern bikes.
1960s Ariel 250, why too much fun I'd say – I wish was there for the fun of adventure
just the same enjoy your time with your dad
best of luck
I'll arm wrestler the better half to see what I can get from her for NSPCC
PS I prefer indian leg wrestler lol
mcn should test more older bikes, great job, try a norton, bsa, velo, triumph
great just keep up the coverage on the adventure..
Hes my favourite as well. i bet alot of people feel the same.
True that.
Fun!
I want to ride them! 🙁
i have a ariel arrow there good little bikes i have the supersport model in gold and white needs some work doing to it still but not a bad bike for the age
good luck on the ride, wish i could do that on ANY motorcycle, you will be going on some good roads im sure
i reckon i'd be up for doing the same thing, but going in the other direction as the riding can be a bit shitty up near john o' groats.
great to see some real enthusiasm!
Keep on smiling!
All the best for the ride, Hope those Ariels are ok in the wet!
good luck lads! have fun on those old strokers!
Very cool, all the best for you and your dad…lets hope the weather is good for you?! Cheers.
put an small annotation link in the video for your website and where to donate. also put where to donate link in the description. also buy a less "jellycam" camera. you can count on my donation and good luck!
Bwilliant mr Guy!!! Hope to see more of this soon.
Good luck sure you will make it ok hope it stops raining for you .
the ariel reminds me of a lambretta
Good to see this, I get so bored of the latest hi tech modern bike, this kinda thing gets us back to our roots.Well my roots at any rate. Great scene in "the leather boys" where they do the Ace cafe to Edinburgh race, Mike Baldwin (Corrie star) riding an Ariel Leader
Love that bike without the windshield!
I like this fella. He doesn't seem like a poser.
Did MCN ever make the rest of this video. If so where can I find it.Thanks
