These guys were 3 decades ahead of their time.
I used to go see him in solo performances during the late '60's and early '70's at a jazz club in Hermosa Beach, Ca. called, The Lighthouse. God, I miss that venue…and I miss Jimmy Smith. I can't believe he's been gone eleven years already.
