Indian Motorcycle
This is a image that I took back in 2008. One August, during lunch break at work, I saw this fellow ride up on this classic and I just had to grab my camera and run over to him with the hope of getting some shots of this sweet ride. Real nice guy! He was more than happy to let me. For some reason I lost this and the other images I took of this bike. Funny how things disappear for me given enough time. After a couple hours of digging I found this long lost image on a hard drive along with my lost shot of Mt Rainer with the crazy lenticular clouds.
I took this with my, new at the time, D300, with a nikkor 18-200 VR lens. A pretty soft lens, as I could definitely see when I reprocessed this image, but at the time I was happy with it. After shooting with some nice primes, I don’t use that lens anymore except for very casual events. I keep it on my D90 and it’s a great grab and go combination.
This is a HDR from a single RAW. I was at least into shooting RAW back then. Ran it through Photomatix after creating four virtual copies in Lightroom and bracketing the exposure for each copy. I like this new look. I’m hoping to find the fellow and give him a print. I’ll take the picture to the local bike shop in Des Moines and ask if anyone there knows him. Worth a try….three years later.
Happy hump Day!!!
