History of Harley-Davidson Motorcycles
In this video, we go over the history of Harley-Davidson motorcycles from its foundation in 1901 to the recent introduction of XR1200 in 2008. The company had gone through many ups and downs, yet it remains one of the most popular motorcycle brands in the world. Hope you enjoy!

Great video. Thank you.
hd is the best
That wasn't all the history… and talk more about the Evo! 🙂
Fuck AMF!
Yeah, and Brad Baker used the XR 750 to kick ass at the last 2016 AMA Pro Flat Track race. Anyone that sees theis should look that race up on YT, the championship battle was excellent.
lol, harleys are a joke, "potato potato" sound, if i ever buy a non japanese cruiser, it will be a triumph
Do one for BMW motorcycles. keep up the great work btw!
Hello very good video, just these days I have to give a presentation in English and had planned to do something about the video, casulidad not got a PDF with the spoken in the video that can help me a little, thank you very much from now
Can you do a video of Eric Buell, and where he fits in with HD plus their break up?
Yeah if they could just make them cams gear driven again that'd be greeeaaaaat
GOOD VIDEO. THE BELT YOU SHOWED WHEN STATING HD WENT ENTIRELY TO BELTS WAS A PRIMARY BELT AND I NEVER HEARD OF HD OFFERING THAT ONLY AFTERMARKET SUPPLIERS MADE THEM. . THE BELT YOU WERE MENTIONING. HD SWITCHING TO IS THE FINAL DRIVE BELT AT THE REAR WHEEL. THANKS FOR THE GREAT WORK ON THE MOTORCYCLE VIDEOS AND PLEASE KEEP THEM COMING!
Harley got their start in 1903, not 1901. (that was Indian)
June 1901
founded dadvision harvard (1901-1904) bike 4444 destroy
Primary drive is not based on a belt by factory in contrary to the video. It's the secondary drive that is made with a belt.
Do one for Indian motorcycle
I just wish Harley made crate shovelheads ,it was a good engine so long as some dumbass didn't stick their nose in places it shouldn't be
Excellent propaganda spin on several fronts:! Now here's some reality:
1) how our boys in WW2 dropped the Harley POS and grabbed german bikes as soon as they dropped on of their solders
2) how the XA was a copy of the german bike (but the faithful today seem to forget that as they cry the japanese are "copying" harley which is a joke for another post)
3) Excellent gloss over of Harley doing nothing but turning tail and sulking when the Japanese, British, and Italians were kicking our butts on our home turf
4) The ability for Harley to recover in the early 80's is far more due to a highly restrictive tariff than any engineering prowess as evidenced by the comment of ending the tariff a year earlier than planned. Indeed if it wasn't for the tarriff and marketing spin they wouldn't be around today (and nothing of value would be lost).
5) When they do return to racing with the VR1000 they don't mention how they had the rules changed to favor them and the best they could after a TEN YEAR EFFORT was a single pole and NO race wins.
6) The MV deal was more than euro distribution. It was to get technology and know-how they were incapable of developing on their own as a direct result of hiring 2 lawyers and 3 marketers for every engineer they were able to let go thanks to using 40 year old technology year after year.
So all that… and not a single mention of the bike that turned it around… the 84 FXST… with the 80ci evo engine? Or Buell and the 1125cr?
Sat Die-tona one more time!
120 years in 8 minutes huh?
Fuck you stupid.
Harley needs to make a knuckle head ,pan ,or flat head style bike again wid a kicker , and wide tire on the back ,carb and no chineese parts , the old bikes sell like hot cakes so why not produce them again , keep cost down and make them exactly like they used to back in the 40s and 50 s , then they will keep and own the market again , curt novitsky
