Custom 1970 Honda CT70 Monkey Bike Cafe Racer Like Honda Grom GoPro Hero 3+
Ken Crites of Huntington Beach, California shows us his custom monkey bike cafe racer that he built himself in his garage based on a 1970 Honda CT70. It features carbon fiber seat and fenders, Koni air shocks, upside down forks, 160 c.c. engine (replacing the stock 70 c.c.), clubman handlebars with bar end mirrors, billet footpegs, extended swing arm and numerous other custom touches. It’ll do 60 mph in top gear! It’s like a Honda Grom! Check out the video to see! Riding video shot with the GoPro Hero 3+.

nice build mate
You are a freaking artist. I had a CT 70 when I was a kid back in the 1970's. It was so fun to ride on the streets, pasture and bayou trails. Would have rather owned a Yamaha 80 dirt bike but Dad could not afford it. Your bike is beautifully put together. Fantastic job. Enjoy it!
The CT70 was my 1st bike at 12 years old. I loved that bike 🙂
Awesome job, Ken….90% of the fun is in building it….I bet this won't be your last creation.
This is a beautiful bike. I'm 49 years old, and my first actual motorcycle i owned was the Honda CT70, when I was 10 years old. I have looked over the years to find a decent one to restore, but yours by far is the most interesting mods I've seen. Love what you did to it. It does bring back memories.
Nice work and nice video too. I build super monkey back in 71 but, yours is much nicer.
Superb
nice bike
Honda Dax ?
Hello Ken: I"m in Long Beach and just go a 1970 Mini trail 70 totally stock . Street legal? I got lots of questions on how to do what you did and or more
where can i buy that exhaust?
Take her on the highway!
I'll give you $500 cash for that thing.
Beyond cool!
I am in awe of such a talent. Great looking bike with performance.
how much you will sell it to me
Nice!
Sweet litttle monster, but it is the exhaust sound that has me most liking this bike… that is a nice little rumble — so much more pleasant to hear than many of these other small bikes on the road today.
Nice Mokick
Very nice thanks for sharing !!!
I like the slippers.
Is a parts kit available to build a replica of Ken Crites awesome Cafe Racer?
Great bike
Do a wheelie
i had a ct 70 in 6th grade.mine was a stock one with the 4 speed auto.this has to be the coolest ct 70 i ever see. is the motor a bolt on or did you make mounts.
You built a one off beast! It's a true work of art! To fully appreciate it, consider making a video of a side by side comparison of a stock bike vs. yours. I'm blown away by your imagination and craftsmanship!
May I offer my congratulations on the amount of work that went on to make this bike what it is. Everything is so meticulously designed and made. The overall lines are so pleasant and the finish and combination of frame, wheels, brakes, dampers and engine and exhaust are really elegant. Again Congratulations.
Very artfully done! Excellent looking machine. You have much talent. I'm inspired to try something like this too. Thanks for sharing!!
Amazing!
ICON!!! Great job.
