Clint Eastwoods Norton Commando S
This is the end segment of the 1978 rarely seen documentary, Superstar Profile, on Clint Eastwood.
It shows Eastwood riding around Carmel on his Norton Commando S.
Already a Triumph fan, Eastwood fell in love with Norton’s while he was in the UK, in 1968 while filming Where Eagles Dare.
He bought this one in 1969, he even took it with him to Yugoslavia when filming Kelly`s Heroes. Copyright issues do not allow original audio.

Hi I grew up In Sydney Ausralia, I am 60 now but still like my motorcycles,my first was a BSA Bantam at 12 then a 56 red hunter Ariel at 15 ,well that was the start of my life of bikes.,when I first was able to get a license it was a five month old 67 Bonneville , I know what you mean about Commados I have owened five, the sound of an S makes life worth living, my friends wondered how I always had the fasted easy starting I would spend hours doing the points getting the the jetting right.
How to start a Norton. Turn on ignition to warm the coils, light up a smoke. Finnish the smoke, tickle the twin Amals until a slight evidence of fuel seeps out. Turn off ignition and on again, bring pistons to top dead center on exhaust stroke. Open out kick starter and with one kick it should start. Depending on weather only use half choke if they are still fitted. Grin and hit the road that leads to the best twisties you can find 🙂
Bastards removed the sound saying was copyright? Norton sound copyright? It is noteworthy…
