2009 Chief, Indian Motorcycle
FOR COMPLETE REVIEW GOTO: http://tinyurl.com/kj4kyp
The 2009 Chief from the latest incarnation of Indian Motorcycle, in Kings Mountain, N.C., simultaneously pays tribute to the brands 108-year legacy while addressing modern riders demands for power and performance. Its valanced fenders and two-tone paint are classic, and its fuel-injected, 105 cubic inch motor and 3-way catalyzed exhaust are modern, but at $31,000-$35,500 the four currently available models are also quite expensive.

DAMN! if only john Britten was still alive! There were rumors that he'd work with Indian designing new models for street racing. THAT is the evolutionary tree they were missing.
Does it wheelie?
I have a 2000 Indian Chief and a 2009 Harley Electraglide Classic i drive the Indian almost all the time and Hardly drive the Harley.
I'll let you come to your own Conclusion.
I ordered one in 2008, took ownership in 2009 and very happy with it. I am glad I ndian has finally made it, as this is the best they have produced so far…
What a dream…*_____________*
I bet those bikes are air cooled…..
I'd love one. Just can't afford one. They just about had to pry me off the one I sitting on in the showroom. Very comfortable when you sit on them.
I own one of those 2009 Indian Chief's, just a great bike!
harley is nothing for Indian, harley is overrated, Indian has a spirit
polaris bought them out… 🙂
I just bought my very own indian chief Vintage Classic Full accessories costing me $38,000 dollars of cold hard cash added with all the options indian chief has to offer i gotta say its addicting and powerful
@Yessong1 – I just hope that Polaris doesn't compromise the quality of this bike, they make the prices more reasonable and will someday soon offer an entry-level cruiser to compete with Harley's Sportster!
Indian Motorcycle always keeps their beautiful classic design. There's no need to change any of the styling. Harley made a big mistake producing the V-Rod and the Revolution engine (not fond of it).
HMMMM another rich boy toy,i would rather get a Kiwi Retro Chief better price, more soul
@Igotthemotts Agreed, awesome bike, I would definitely take one over a Harley—- If it werent for the price. What the F**k are they thinking. Indian or not 25k + for a base model is INSANE! If they dont adjust their pricing Indian will again all to the wayside. I'll stick to the Polaris Victory bikes, at least they're reasonably priced. Better yet I'll just keep my crotch rocket and get a used Victory [_($)_]
Guess what, It costs double my car.
@Igotthemotts See benz sell their cars for high price because they are the best, Just like harley, but That doesn't mean greed, Its to keep up their company status.
@rockstar4mahe Harley Davidsons are Far from the Best,as far as engineering goes they're way behind.Don't get me wrong I Love the Bikes I just Hate the motor company and their business practices and there are a lot of People that feel that way. It's not company Status actually it's what they call "Mystique" all it is is Business lingo for keep em' hungry for more. H.D. Turned their backs on the only people that kept buying their "Junk" in the seventies when others wouldn't touch them……
@Igotthemotts Yea, I agree, They had some, what do you call, Pride or something that they only made "those" bikes. But the thing is, Its the only thing that still keeps them as the best motor corp, Harley right?
I love harley, but guess what it cost double my dad's car, Its the only thing that makes me like it, the status, the price, Moreover the pride in riding the best on the highway.
@rockstar compared to the jap bikes and BMW harley is Crap. Harley has just been Lucky because they have no real american made competition, until now. I got to hand it to Victory for giving those greedy Bastards a run for their money.Indian could but they're already fucking up right out the gate by not offering more of a selection and making their bikes affordable. It also cracks me up how Harley Davidson is embracing the whole Bad Biker Image that they tried like hell to put down back in the day.
@Igotthemotts It ain't abour money honey, its all about tradition.
@rockstar4mahe So are you telling me that Indian has no tradition? Indian and Harley Davidson were running neck and neck for many years,Harley just lucked out by getting the government contracts and Indian went belly up.Had it been the other way around you would be telling me that indian in the best and all about tradition. So enlighten me, what's the "Tradition" of Harley Davidson All about? Maybe I missed something all these years ….
@Igotthemotts "Harley just lucked out by getting the government contracts and Indian went belly up." "Had it been the other way around you would be telling me that indian in the best and all about tradition."
Look Around you It isn't the other way around, So support today conditions. This war between us,
I like both HD and Indian, it just came to be that i like HD better.
I never heard an Indian, so it's a question. may sound dumb to others but, is the Indian's engine sound alike the Harley's ?
Obviously not a stock bike. Wondering what this had on it back in '09… someone change out the baffles?
In the interim however, public transport still remains the primary mode of transport for most of the population, and India's public transport systems are among the most heavily used in the world
similar…
Susan:U R Sexy!
Yes they do. They are both air cooled.
How about they give you grammar lessons so you can go and get a job and buy one like everyone else.
As you know Polaris now owns Indian and this year in Fresno Ca they will be available for sale. How well do you like the Indian bikes compared to let say the Harley Heritage? Thank you great video very informative I have a appreciation for women novelists.
for just 36 grand sure let me take off my right shoe i guess that ill never own one
Nice review, you look like a natural on the bike meaning a perfect fit for each other. Hopefully you will review the newest version by Polaris later this sum. I'm hoping this time the Indian brand will finally find a deserving home. I already want one.
