kick starting a norton JPS, dont let the video fool you, this was after 50- 60 kicks and a couple pushstart attempts in the warehouse. bike is an authentic jpn, rebuilt motor in july of 10, 10440 original miles last registered in california in 1983. i have no idea how to tickle the amal carbs correctly, and the last bike i kickstarted was a rg500 gamma in 1993. my right leg is sore, i was about to give up kicking when it burped a few times, and then she caught. what a cool bike.

    A Norton Commando in good tune would start on the first or second kick if the carbs were tickled to overflow.  
    If it took more than 4 or 5 kicks the bike had a problem or the operator was incompetent.
