Victory Police Motorcycles and BMW Police Motorcycles
Here , Bobby Garcia takes on another BMW at Carlsbad PD on their test track which is a very nice technical course and again you see how nimble the Victory is and the smoothness the Victory carries in the transistions. Also note the Rider position, looks like Bobby on the Victory is in a very comfortable chair while the BMW rider is falling out of his high chair, That’s why they say riding a BMW for more than an hour is tough.

@DrumNut927 It wasn't a race. The BMW was suppose to tail the Victory. The guy yelling was joking around with the guy on the BMW.
We just did and up Mt. Lemon from 4k feet to 9k feet the Victory could out run the BMW with ease, going down the BMW could out run the Victory. reason: it takes torque to push it up and the Victory has a ton. But going down hill the BMW was faster.
Riding a BMW for more than an hour is tough? Not that I have noticed. I have limited experience on cruiser styled bikes, about the closest geometry that I have put any real kms on is a GL1800, but what I can say is the BMW RT is not difficult to ride on a course such as this although you would be inclined to carry a little more speed due to the higher CG. Ultimately I place greater significance on moderate to high speed handling as speed is what gets you killed and ground and corner clearance
The Victory's have replaceable floorboard skids and that is what you hear, at night they really look fantastic.
whats the civilian equivalent version of this Victory? Im riding the old tried and true Kawasaki KZ1000p. I love scraping those floor boards
It's the Victory Cross Country. There are also several variations on that particular model. One being the Cross Country Tour (which includes upgraded wind reduction, several added creature comforts, and a trunk). The other is the Cross Roads, which is a fairing-less version, having instead a windshield. Hope that helps, Cheers!!
thanks
29 Agencies in the U.S. 5 In Canada, 5 in the Middle East, China, Sweden and growing each day. They are simply falling in love with the Victory
the beemer didn't do as well. he skipped a lot of the course just to keep up.
I'd like to see the Victory follow the BMW. (Whole lot of scrap'n going on…)
hahaha…. Victory bikes in the police would never have a chance to follow a BMW in Europe… I have had a BMW in the past and for touring drives there is no better bike than it. The HD iis for my a "philosophical" choice.
On the course the Victory lead and the BMW followed. The Victory made good progress, but, anyone could see the Victorys' limitations over the BMW. The dragging/scraping from the Victory is unsafe a higher speeds, the bike would loose traction and slide, whereas the BMW is sure footed and has rapid speed coupled with the best of reliability. I ride a BMW 1200 cl and it is a joy to ride and own.
I am of course going to acquire a HAMMER S to complete my life as it is beautiful and dominant.
Damn! dude on the Victory was crushing it! Nice job!
These are both pretty good bikes !
I love Victorys, and own one, but really, on a tight course, the BMW would have to do better – much better lean angle clearance and lighter/more neutral steering. This kind of course is really the Bimmer's forte.
Sweden? Are you shure? Ive never heard of it.
It's a little country between Norway and Finland. 😛
The BMW rider flubbed a couple of times. Quinn Redeker of the Ventura, CA PD can turn his beemer inside your nose (/watch?v=ZbUbGwB_tMA). Or any other sort of bike, really. This sort of thing depends far more upon the pilot than the machine.
But yeah, BMWs aren't the fastest bikes around. The new Kawasakis would have been a badass bike; the CHP has a few and they are REALLY badass, but the state procurement office kept jerking them around.
Oh I know about Swedenn alright, the country of honor and heroes! But I have yet to se a victory police motorcycle here in Sweden!
Ball bearings on the tip protectors and it wouldn't scrape so bad.
That is the floorboard skids you ear and they are performing the purpose intended and they are replaceable
Bigger they are the harder they fall!
how about a highway situation?
Well we would accept that challenge, you get on the BMW and let's see who can survive a crash better, you in?
What situation? We just had an office hit a dog at 70 MPH and the bike simply slid down the road and the Officer only had a couple of scratches, is that what you are talking about?
I would to ride a victory. BMW never impressed me. I'm a short guy and probably wouldn't do good on BMW.
Very nice !!!!!
The BMW should have continued with his circles instead us just skipping them to keep up.
I don't think anyone following — no matter what brand — would do well in this course. Have a Victory follow a Victory if you want and unless they are less than 30" apart, the follower is going to get cut-off.
Same skills set? Hmm. I own a Victory Vision and IBA member. I'm usually the one that struggles to keep up with my BMW buddies in the twisties. That R1200RT motor is just waking up at 5000 rpm while you are just about redlining the Victory. Two different styles of motorcycle. From a comfort standpoint you have to give it to the Victory, but as far as performance and handling is concerned, Victory? Really? Let's be real. R1200RT and Victory on a road course with same skills set, no comparison.
But the Victory is practically a Trike, that's kind ok
Nice, but it's like the Victory has training wheels. With that big giant cage on the back it's impossible to fall, but he can't turn without scraping it on the ground. I'm more impressed that the BMW kept up with him and never touched the ground while making tighter turns.
I guess the victory comes with some cheerleaders….
I would have liked to see them swap bikes so we could see the better rider try both bikes. What is that scratching noise btw?
Oh come on, Victory's are great, but any half decent rider could keep up with it on that BMW
using all the lean angle there lol
let the BMW be first, an then we see…………………………………..
While the stunt riding is impressive, I am more curious about cost of operation, maintenance downtime and service life. I can guarantee the Victory will outperform the BMW on those fronts. BMW bikes have the worst service records as reported by several consumer reporting groups and the highest cost of ownership. And NO DEATH WOBBLE!
Home course for BMW? Does he use that course regularly? I could see the BMW wasted a lot of space on the last U turn. He came in and cut it too soon, wasting over three feet of space. Use equal riders.
Please, let's try that with riders of equal skill levels, really that was silly.
The guy doing the talking is a loud, irritating drama queen. If the goal was getting people to mute the video, mission accomplished.
