Born September 1975- died in October 2007.

Rode YZR500 machines since the 1994 British GP. A full-time participant in the GP500 from 1995, Abe achieved three GP victories: in 1996 in the Japan GP, in 1999 in Rio de Janeiro, and in 2000 in the Japanese event. From 2005 he raced in the World Superbike series, but from 2007 returned to racing in Japan. In October of the same year, however, he lost his life in a traffic accident. In 1993 at the All Japan Road Race Championship, won the 500cc title (Honda) and in 1994 entered the Japan GP, where he led Mick Doohan (Honda) and Kevin Schwantz (Suzuki) until finally taking a fall with three laps before the finish. That year Abe rode for Honda in the All Japan Superbike Championship, but during the season switched to a YZR500 in place of Daryl Beattie who was injured in the GP. Abe flew to the United Kingdom where he rode in three races. From the following year, 1995, he became a full-time rider.

In 2002, the first year of the MotoGP, he achieved the highest ranking of any 2-stroke rider wiht 6th. Out of 146 GP races, he pulled out of finals only twice, due to injuries in the qualifying rounds. These were his first race on a YZR500 (1994, United Kingdom) and his first race on a YZR-M1 (2002, Australia). In the other 144 races, Abe rode through to the finals. From 2005, rode in the World Superbike Championship, and in both that year and the next, achieved rankings of 13th. In 2007, returned to Japanese racing after a hiatus of 13 years. Entered the Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race for the first time and was placed 9th.

2017年10月2日に開催されたハーレーダビッドソン・新「SOFTAIL」2018モデル・プレス公道試乗会から ソフテイル・スリムの試乗ショートレビューをお送りします。

驚いた方も多いと思いますが、ハーレーダビッドソン2018年モデル最大のトピックスはダイナとソフテイルを統合した新プラットフォーム(ビッグツインクルーザープラットフォーム)が採用されたことです。

これまで独立しながらも同社を支えてきた2本の柱が1本に束ねられたことで、ソフテイル2018年モデルは、優雅でクラシックなフレームワーク維持しながらもダイナの現代的な走りとハンドリングを融合。また、新たなエンジン「Milwaukee-Eight® 107/114」を得て、その走りは一層パワフルで味わい深いものになっているとのこと。

Rickman Metisse Godden V1000 1000 cc 2 cyl ohc

Godden Engineering www.goddenengineering.co.uk is a small precision engineering company founded in the 1970’s by former European Grasstrack Champion Don Godden.
He initially start out by making speedway and grasstrack frames.
Don quickly progressed into engine manufacture for speedway and grasstrack application and by the end of the 1970’s the GR 500 was an established world class engine, soon to be followed by the Godden 1000cc SOHC V-Twin.
This ca 1980 1000cc Godden V-twin is merged with one of the best racing frames available at the time, the Rickman Metisse.
Best known for their Metisse frames, Rickman made frame and body kits for competition off-road bikes such as Montesa and Zundapp, and sports road bikes most famous of which were probably the Rickman Hondas, SOHC Honda Four powered machines which were state of the art in the early 1970s.
There were also Matchless roadracers, the Enfield powered Rickman Interceptor, the Triumph Metisse – much favoured for desert racing in the United States , the mighty Rickman Kawasaki 900 and the Goddon 1000cc V-twin.
On methanol the power output would be approx. 128 BHP, however for road use this Godden V-twin is tuned back to a healthy 100 BHP.
The engine was recently checked over.
This fine and unspoiled racer, converted with lighting for everyday road use,
runs extremely well, but it would take a brave man to exploit its full potential on the road.
Is this the café racers café racer ?

BSA motorcycles were produced by the Birmingham Small Arms Company.

The BSA B31, introduced in 1945, was the first new model introduced by the company after the Second World War.
Based on pre-war designs, it uses a single cylinder, overhead valve, four stroke engine that displaces 348 cc (21.2 cu in).
Initially, it had a rigid frame and telescopic forks instead of the girder forks used in the pré-war models.
It develops about 17 bhp (13 kW), adequate enough to deliver a top speed of around 70 mph (110 km/h).
This 1951 hardtail BSA B31 is a very attractive and restored motorcycle.
