In 2009 Lowry had some impressive performances in his BSB rookie season, with a best finish of fourth at Cadwell Park and the final round at Oulton Park. Watanabe though failed to deliver the results and languished down the final championship standings. The team lifted the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 Championship crown with Alastair Seeley
