BMW K75 engine rebuild.
This K75 motor is in for a rebuild after low compression was found on cylinder #1 & #2. On investigation the head gasket was found to be blown. The reason, probably down to water in the cylinder, as it had been started after a few years of outside storage. Should be fine with a light skim of the head, it will also have new valve stem seals and piston rings while it is apart.
The K75 is not just a K100 with one cylinder removed, it is a much more refined motor with more power per cc than the 8v K100 thanks to its straight cut primary output gear, higher compression pistons and 120 degree crank. When fitted in the bike with its lighter weight, tuned length exhaust system and lower gearing it would probably give a K100 a run for its money up to 125mph.
