a t-rex to me is a car. but i could accept the mp3. its built more like a bike.
A trike license here in Ohio is a different endorsement. We have a club member who was certified on a Piaggio MP3. He is not licensed to ride a two wheeled motorcycle. I've ridden trikes that other members of my club have. To be honest with you, I hate the ride!!! The only reason I would ride a trike, is due to medical conditions where I could not hold up a traditional two wheeled motorcycle or in my case, a Burgman 650.
i agree. Thanks for the view and the comment.
lol That's a klr for ya.
At times I think I should get a trike just in case I am somewhere with my wife and she has to drive.
No, Trikes are not motorcycles, Here in Califorina if it has 3 wheels it is a car. and no MC endorcement is required. I think thats why my wife wants a Ural…
I love the ural, but the lack of power and clunky gearbox would steer me away from it. A 1200cc version would be great. I love the idea of riding around with my dog or son in the hack.
Saw this and had to comment; I was an avid rider for about 8 years. I didn't have a car for a long time considering I was in the army for 6 years and that was all I needed was my Harley. Well due to an injury sustained in the military I can't take the weight of a standard bike, so I converted a 1200 sportster into a trike. It gives me the freedom I used to have when I rode and I do believe it's still a motorcycle, but in saying that whatever the hell that thing was it wasn't a trike/motorcycle.
Thank you for your service. It all comes down to working i guess. but to me its got to have handlebars, and be someone made from a bike. Hope you have fun on the harley trike..
Have you seen The Carver? 🙂
steering wheel = car
handlebars = motorcycle
i agree…its not a motor cycle, BUT, its still cool as fuck
in my opinion you have a point but think about it they're considered motorcycles. the insurance is going to be inexpensive, yearly tags inexpensive, of course parking, etc. etc. i guess thats why  people purchase it because its considered a motorcycle. im talking about something like the stallion.  my 2 cents only but i guess people buy them for that.  two wheels – true motorcycle , peace
Bottom line……it's a trike!
I'm of the old school bike has handle bars and so does a trike. The stallion while it is a interesting machine none the less is a trike and that clear base on the three wheel. as for calling it a motorcycle let me just ask this. When was the last time you saw a motorcycle or a trike with heat and AC? its an open cockpit design what purpose is the heat and AC going to serve aside from driving the price up?
According to the US DOT if it has fewer than four wheels, it's a motorcycle, steering input does not factor into the definition. A fully enclosed three wheeled vehicle is also a motorcycle in Germany (most EU locales).
Why not just call a Trike a Trike?
It really does not matter its all about having fun
ive just begun a project of making a trike out of a boat, i HOPE to just get the insurance/ tags etc as a motorcycle/trike. i thought to use the boat steering wheel- on boats they use a heavy cable to push/pull the motor to turn. i saw this ant thoughtt- oh if it has a steering wheel then its a car.
The automatic transmission and steering wheel make it easier for those with disabilities to use
In most cases, 50 states call them motorcycles, you're the only that cares what you think….don't buy one! simple as that!Â
No..I listen to Obama speeches, and I know he's full a shit too, but I do watch and listen.
Change the Steering wheel to a motorcycle's… I'm sure you can customise the thing…
I rather get a Polaris Slingshot than this though…
It's cheaper and looks much much cooler
3:01 They basically took a "Ford Ranger" Hey Mr. Genius, Instead of telling all your BS, you should educate yourself and know what you are talking about instead of inducing people in error. Here's a link where you will see how exactly a Stallion is built. http://www.thoroughbred-motorsports.com/tm2technical.aspx
Maybe its the worlds first motorcycle with a steering wheel
The term "three wheeled motorcycle" is an oxymoron. The word motorcycle by definition is a two wheeled vehicle. It's root words are motor + bicycle.
i think if there is one wheel in the front it is a motorcycle or motorized trike. also if you manually steer the front wheel regardless if you use handlebars or a steering wheel its a motorcycle.
to the "why not just by a car?" question. because they want a motorized trike thats why.
you seem offended that the 3 wheelers exist.
if you add a side car to a motorcycle it is still a motorcycle right?
its just amusing that you are offended and almost angry about things.
its a toy. Let people have thier fun.
thanks for the video.
You got far too much time on your hands friend. It's a vehicle that's getting people out cruising and improving the scene as a whole, and
should be totally encouraged.
I am going to convert my 1989 Suzuki Intruder into a trike. It will have it's original handle bars no damn steering wheel, no automatic transmission, no air conditioner or heater. A trike is not a bike unless it has bars. To those of you that or trashing tis guy and saying shit like don't buy one or look at it the same could be said of you clowns. Don't like the video don't watch it.
Several points, 1) perhaps some owners of these trikes have physical issues that don't permit riding a 2 wheeler but still want to participate in m/c related activities, should they stay home? 2) You say it has a car engine, ever hear of a Boss Hoss (V8, 2 wheels)? And basically a Gold Wing uses a 6 cylinder car engine similar to a Subaru, power is power. Also several makers have built models with automatic transmissions. 3) It doesn't matter what is employed to exert steering leverage, they could have just as easily installed handlebars. I used to laugh at touring bikes not being "real" motorcycles, now I ride a nice comfy Gold Wing. I don't know how old you are, but your opinions may change with age, maybe not.
wow cool
So what, if they put handle bar in, is this become a motorcycle?
