I love characters like this old man. He doesn't care about factions, about Marines vs Pirates or anything like that. He cares only to do what he loves with passion, and he likes to share with anyone.

1:53 it was at that moment I was totally sure it was canon , then realized it wasn’t in the manga , such a remarkable filler
I miss this one piece where fillers were so good
that old guy looks like one of the early members oda had in mind for the strawhats.
The legend also said that if u treasure your car very much, as it is the special one, in foggy night, u will see somebody is treating your car.
But dont be surprised if the next day, u discover that your tyres are gone.
This really shows how good of a filler this was. For some reason they decided to use so much time to show us that something's up with Merry. A kind of foreshadowing, if you will, to an important part later in the series. They really seemed to care in this filler

I loved this filler arc… definitely one of the best. I know this is all non-canon, but I think this filler should've been canon. All the fun and interesting things that happen on the marines' point of view, it's pretty interesting. And also, what an outstanding man! He doesn't even care if they're pirates, he gets along with Usopp just fine!
I wish he was a canon character because I would love to've seen him in the future. :'(
